'Aurangzeb': New actress Sasheh Agha turns singer for 'Barbaadiyaan'

Sasheh, daughter of Pakistani actress Salma Agha, is making her acting debut with 'Aurangzeb' and now she sings a song 'Barbaadiyaan' in the movie.

"I have learned singing from my mom and I don't plan to give it up because I am very passionate about it," said the newcomer in a statement.

Coming from an illustrious musical family, she informed: "Musicians Sajid and Wajid are my maternal uncles. My stepsister is the famous English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan, who goes by the stage name Bat for Lashes.

"My great grandfather was Jugal Kishore Mehra, who was Raj Kapoor's uncle and married to Anwari Begum, the famous singer. My grandmother Nusrin Agha, was a well-known singer as well. So in a way, I am the fourth generation singer in my family," she added.

Sasheh has already recorded the song.

A source close to the film said that producer Aditya Chopra managed to convince Sasheh to sing a peppy number titled "Barbaadiyaan", a club track filmed on Sasheh and Arjun Kapoor.

A spokesperson from Yash Raj Films confirmed the news, saying: "Yes, Sasheh has sung this beautiful track (for the film). Her voice is as melodious as her mother's."

Salma debuted in Bollywood in 1982 with box office hit social drama 'Nikaah' and she sang all her songs in the film, including the hit number "Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye".

Yes, they divorced.

That was for guaranteed and well understood! So these girls are from Salma ,s first husband? And is she back with him?
Last time I saw her quite a few years ago sing for a Pakistan award ceremony and she ended it with panache, with her singing the only saving grace for the event. Even though I have not been much fond of her voice;(
I thought she was partial Turkish her self?

Sasheh Agha (real first name is: Zara) is the daughter of Pakistani actress Salma Agha and Rehmat Khan. Salma Agha married Rehmat Khan, after her divorce with Javed Shaikh. Rehmat Khan is a squash coach and former squash player from Pakistan. She also divorced from Rehmat Khan.

The film is treat for old school film fans who enjoyed the films mentioned above. I think the film wasnt actually bad the way people made it out to be, the audience today expects every hindi film to be Oscar material like Wasseypur or Barfi. I think good old pulp hindi films are not what people tend to accept today but they surely have their own zone
