Amit Trivedi scores high marks with the music Aiyyaa. A mix of 70s style disco, with an added touch of south Indian flavour, infused with sexually charged lyrics. Sounds bizarre, but the outcome is very impressive. After Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 & 2 music, Aiyyaa is easily my favourite soundtrack of the year.

I also like Amit Trivedi's soundtrack for Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, also an Anurag Kashyap production.

Thanks for the recommendation, will surely check it out. In my books, Amit Trivedi is rising fast as a "consistent" musical talent for mainstream films. Which I find exciting, since only Rahman has shown consistency in "delivering" for the longest time, the south indian dude needs rivalry and the paying public needs more variety. I personally regard the soundtrack of Dev D as one of two or three best of the past 10-15 years that's from a hindi film language.

Anurag Kashyap, who's criticized for being oblivious to common mistakes, is actually, in my observation, far smarter than many of us give him credit for. Finding a talent like Amit Trivedi at Sunburn Music Festival is an ingenious idea to seek new "independent" creativity.

The Dev.D soundtrack must have stayed in my car for about 2 years straight. Such a fantastic album. I'm glad to see he's stayed consistently good since then. He seems to do his best work for Anurag Kashyap, but even an album like Aisha has at least a couple of memorable songs.

Sneha Khanwalkar (Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Gangs of Wasseypur) is another fantastic composer.

Sneha Khanwalkar's Oye Lucky Lucky Oye I like. But what I absolutely love with what she's done with GoW 1 & 2 is that they both simultaneously remind me of the vigorous vibe one gets from listening to an Eminem album and the funky brilliant composition one hears from a M.I.A. beat. I'd even argue that in GoW 2, Khanwalkar draws infulence from the latter artist. This can be noticed by listening to "Chhi-chha ledar", "Bahut Khoob" & "Perpendicular (Theme)".

Finally got around listening to Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Amit Trivedi has another winner on his plate here. Without modeling his high points around punjabi songs already made popular by punjabi artists(a trend other hindi film composers commonly use to get noticed), Trivedi here injects "Dance Music" & "Punjabi Dance rhythms" with his own flair. "Kikli Kalerdi", "Luni Hasi" & "Farukha Baadi" are evidence of this.
