Another film that DEI might have authored ??

YESHWANT ??
(Nana Patekar, Madhoo)
DEI-EROS Major Saab insert lists Raja, Darr, Yugpurush, Chandni and YESHWANT as "Coming Soon". This was the time when DEI-EROS partnership was in full swing and lots of DEI-EROS DVDs were being released. DEI-EROS breakup occurred a long time later and all the films listed in the "Coming Soon" list, except Yeshwant, are well known to have DEI authoring.
I think YESHWANT too must have been authored by DEI and forgotten as it doesn't seem to be a popular title.

Present listings of Yeshwant have it's cover that has B4U and EROS logos. IMDB has the same cover but has just EROS logo.
Recall that DEI authored DVDs, for EROS, were released with DEI-EROS logos or just EROS logos. After DEI-EROS split, EROS re-authored those DVDs and the cover had B4U & EROS logos. Looks like, the imdb picture is from solo EROS release that must be DEI authoring ??
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250122/

Any comments/ sightings of Yeshwant ??

EROS-B4U logos are generally on non-DEI EROS DVDs.

But, in this case, Yeshwant cover that's shown at IMDB is solo EROS and is from pre B4U and from pre DEI-EROS split. It's the solo EROS label old DVD the one that may very well be DEI authoring.

Picked up solo EROS labeled Yeshwant.

It seems to be DEI-EROS origin but this disc was not DEI authored. It has some similarities to DEI-EROS DVDs of the time, like PQ sharpness, colors, 1.85:1 AR, 2 Ch Mono @ 194 kbps etc.
On the other hand, it's most likely PAL to NTSC converted (but not field averaged) that it has 1,2,3,4,5,5-repeat sequence, (just like some EVP DVDs).

After the DEI-EROS split, many films that EROS could get their hands on DEI authorings, they re-authored them and released under solo EROS, like Dastak, (better ones); and others under EROS-B4U labels.

As other DVDs listed as coming soon, in the days of active DEI-EROS collaboration were released/ authored by DEI, it's quite likely that a DEI authored Progressive DVD of Yeshwant might exist somewhere.

As far as I know In USA-Canada, just 7-8 DEI authored DVDs were made available under Spark Label that were actually meant for European distribution.
Yes, in Europe, lots of DEI/ BEI DVDs were released by Spark and there was DEI/ BEI collaboration in Europe.

Sasural, can you help find me a Spark Yeshwant DVD, working or not. Even if rotting DVD, problems start in the 2nd layer and one can still recover first half that's on the 1st layer. Thanks.

When I wrote this comment, I had just scanned the DVD on my PC. Now when I'm watching it on big screen, I am sure of a Progressive DEI DVD of this title exists somewhere. One of the best, or perhaps the best, non-Prog DVD that I have ever seen.

Movie: It's a hard hitting Nana Patekar film.

Wasn't Love In Tokyo (Joy Mukherjee) released by BEI in the last days of BEI ??

Somehow, I think having seen or read discussion about it on zulm ??

(April Fool sure was released by BEI, but as I vaguely recall, Love In Tokyo too was released by BEI ??)

Any recollection if DEI/ BEI ever released Love In Tokyo ??

Current internet search shows YRF, Morerbaer, and one NN brand versions of DVD ??

No DEI/BEI version of Yeshwant exists. The title was released by EROS after the spilt.

I remember trying very hard to find DEI version of Raja Jani that perhaps never existed. (Finally got EROS)

But, it surprises me that I/ we never thought of EVP that's where we picked up this name from. 60% of EVP Hindi DVDs are Progressive and other 30% Pseudo Progressive. So, good chance that EVP Raja Jani will come out excellent.

Any one recalls Raja Jani DVD by EVP ??

Sharmila, Rajesh Khanna one was RAJA RANI.

RAJA JANI has Dharminder, Hema Malini in lead. It's Raja Jani that once was listed under EVP DVDs.
