Who's that in the first pic? Sanjay Dutt before he shaved? :p
The specs may be great but I find it hard to get excited about Indian blu-rays because most of them are for immensely crappy films shot in a flat unimaginative maner, which are at best see-once-and-throw. I do hope you get to do Bala's Avan-Ivan. It's an un-Ivan film (:D) with some very cringing comedy moments, but the last third is incredible intense Bala-style and the film would have a lovely texture in high-def. Sadly I saw the film in the front row at a digital screening that was clearly not hi-res enough for the screen size.

Its certainly the first Bollywood movie on blu-ray done under my supervision by AP International.

We've used the same method done for our Tamil HD releases. We take the DPX, get the colour correction approved by the director/DOP/Banner, then process the encode very carefully.

The film (which has poor production values) actually does look nice on blu-ray. Just surprised to see the same problems found on Tamil/Malayalam DPX files are present on Hindi DPX.

e.g.) The end credits graphics had major compression issues. It seems that the graphic house exported the file as a poor quality Quicktime file. This file was then processed on the final edit, then saved onto DPX file. Sadly, we cannot fix this as the source is at fault.

We'll make it look as good as the source - that I can promise you :)

Thanks Sunny for the screens. So you are now into Bollywood. Its a really good news for Bollywood blu-ray industry which has been at the receiving end from quite some time for the bad quality blus and you come as an Assured Gift.

It might be best to speak to Reliance (who are releasing the disc) and ask them for a release date. Its thier call.
