I had the GVI version which was good compared to GVI's other DVDs but stil not a patch to the Eros & DEI DVDs, I then got the Shemaroo DVD & it's the best version it has sharp quality & it's 16:9 anamorphic enhanced widescreen tv I'm well impressed by Shemaroo

Got my copy of Shemaroo Release Namak Halaal today and for once i can say this print is as good as if not better than the DEI print... anamorphic widescreen. Sound quality is decent as well. Colours are good and vibrant such as the disco / hotel Pag Ghungroo scene.

yes but 'raat baaqi' song is all washed out for some reason.
sound ok - no great shakes.
video - softer than DEI, but full aspect ratio 16:9 anarmorphic

Can you see the duller purple toned 'raat baaqi' screenshot? Don't know why only that song looked different.

Easy enough to fix with manual encoding...but sheesh what a soft picture!

In your opinion, is the fuller picture really worth getting the Shemaroo with its huge logo all over the place? As it is, I have the DEi version.

so do I. Can't beat the DEI mastering for picture sharpness, but Namak Halaal does look best in its full picture. See if you can get a comparison shot of the second last picture.

I've changed my mind the DEI is far superior to Shemaroo in quality & sound just watching it at home

Shemaroo print seems to have more of a natural appearance to it, as well as being uncropped (somewhat). DEi must be the one with better sharpness, but is grossly cropped! Obviously, the progressive encoding does help too! Can you tell us what exactly is the difference in sound in the two versions is?
