maybe eros used the DEI transfer later for their own label release, because the DEI menu has sound and video, and eros one i saw was static in menu.
your right commando, maybe you were lucky
Same with Trishul, eros one is so rubbish compared to eros /DEI.
My Eros copy of
Deewaar indeed has animated menus. The main menu begins as a wall, with the
Deewaar theme music, then goes into the buttons that may be clicked ("play movie," "chapters," etc.). I've never seen the "static-menu" version of which you speak. Of course, I own
Trishul (Eros/DEI), as well, and the print is just superb (though the film used for the transfer, is in horrible condition during the first 10 mins. or so). The picture is sharp, and the colors vibrant; and the audio is free from any hissing, coming through clear and strong. Again, the menus are animated. I have
Sharaabi (Eros/DEI), too, and the case is the same (excellent DVD). As a matter of fact, the original aspect-ratio is preserved until the opening credits end, and even thereafter, it's not too cropped. I used to own the Eros DVD of
Laawaris, and I found that the picture was soft and dark, though the sound was OK; this all was before I knew anything about DEI vs. Eros, etc. (I just figured "Eros"=not-bootlegged; buy from them). I never understood why zulm.net spoke so well of the transfer, nor did I get why my menus looked different. Finally, having read about Eros/B4U as opposed to Eros/DEI, I managed to get hold of the Eros/DEI version, and I couldn't have been (and couldn't be) happier. If only Eros/DEI were still going; great transfers, with discs that last more than a week. Man, what the hell is wrong with the Indian DVD market? "Zulm" is right.
