As years roll by, Kunvar Ranvir repents, becomes a saintly, generous and highly respected man in the legitimate society.
Fate brings the father and his first son face to face, though they do not know how they are related. But as their contact grows Kunvar Ranvir is so much impressed and affected by the qualities of the laawaris-Hira(Amitabh Bachchan)., who has been spurned by the society, that he develops affection for him so much so that he wishes Hira was his own son in place of his real son Mahendar(Ranjeet).
The son and father come to know of their real relationship, but the social values of the society keep them apart
in spite of their liking for each other. The son wants his father to undo the wrong done to him, and call him his son. The father burdened by his respectable image in society does not have courage enough to come out into the open and confess, that Hira is his son.
A little girl Mohini(Zeenat Aman), the daughter of Hira;s childhood employer grows into a young woman that loves Hira.
Ultimately fate compells Kunvar Ranvir to face the truth, In presence of the society that
respects and adores him, he dares to come forward and claim Hira as his son. |
