what's stoping you from owning it?

I'm more interested in B.R. Chopra's tv serial. I haven't seen Peter Brooks, but I found B.R. Chopra's to be well made!

R1 release had a very poor transfer and when I last checked it was over 50$, now there seems to be a price drop ( ~ 30$)

There is no doubt in my mind that B.R Chopra's was more of an "epic" undertaking, problem is I am not sure if I will be able to sit through all the gazillion episodes :(

haha, thats what I love about BR Chopras - is that I was able to sit through the 200+(?) episodes. whats more is that each episode made me crave for the next, which was horrible when they only aired 1 episode a week! There are several Video Sound box sets available, anyone know the difference?

there are actually a couple of good hindi serials on TV now, and I can't believe myself because I've always hated hindi serials/dramas for as long as I could remember! I record the shows if I can't watch during it's original airing. Are tehre DVD's available for hindi tv dramas??

Peter Brook's version is more like a piece of experimental theater. The actors are of all different races, yet it does not seem strange. I couldn't sit through Brook's Marat/Sade, but Mahabharata is extremely engaging.
