Among all the Eros DVDs I own, I found B4U DVD looks much better than other non-B4U Eros DVD. Those B4U DVDs may not be as good as the best of DEI DVDs, but they are quite decent. There is also a distinction between B4U DVDs and non-B4U DVDs on the DVD resolution. B4U DVD's resolution is stardard 720*480 while non-B4U DVD's resolution is bizarrely 704*480. So I got a couple questions for you guys. Is B4U another company who ever authored DVD for Eros as DEI did before? If so, are they still authoring DVDs for Eros? Is there a list of all the E4U DVDs?

B4U was the new company started by EROS a few years back. The company B4u is a digital music/movie channel that is all about Bollywood, which is available in many countries via Cable and Sat.

Eros started adding B4U onto the DVDs as it provided a great way to advertise B4u (Eros's new Bollywood TV channel) to the Indian community worldwide.

As for why DVDs that had B4u written on them are better then DVDs that just have Eros on them, I have no idea.

It seems to me that B4U DVDs and Non-B4U DVDs are authored by two different studios, so it results in different video qualities.

Could someone please explain Eros B4U DVDs?

Sure in simple terms:

ERO$/B4U = > Sucks!
ERO$ => Sucks Big Time!

End of discussion :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Also to add, when the DEI stopped authoring DVDs for Eros the entire Eros/DEI catalogue was re-branded under the Eros/B4U label. Most of early Eros/B4U DVDs were just replicas of Eros/DEI discs i.e. same picture and sound and menus.

From what I understood DEI and Eros were engaged in some sort of legal battle with one of the consequence being that Eros could not re-release the Eros/DEI DVDs with same menus that DEI had done.

Eros then re-released the same movies again on DVD with different menus. But due Eros being incompetent the video was re-encoded using video from DEI mastered DVDs, in the process making the progressive video into interlaced video onto - I should add - cheaper DVD-ROM disc that don’t last at all.

So in summary some movies have been released about three times on DVD;
1 – Original Eros/DEI.
2 – Eros/B4U replicas of Eros/DEI same video, sound and menus as 1. (Most consider these illegal).
3 – Eros/B4U, with new menus, crappier video.

After DEI, Eros has used many other authoring houses; cheaper the better for Eros as quality is a non-issue with them.
