This big budget Chinese remake of "Good, the Bad and the Ugly" is set to release in North America through Columbia Tri Star! A.R. Rahman does the score

How can anyone possibly match Morricone's original GBU score?

You simply can't!

It'll either be very good or very bad...a make or break for Rahman. While Rahman is good there's no way Rahman can even touch Morricone. Rahman's music has gone downhill in recent years, Bombay Dreams wasn't all that and he even copied the backstreet boys (Everybody...) for Saathiya...just how low can you get! I just hope he doesn't deteriorate into another Anu Malik.

We've also obtained early details on the region one release of Warriors of Heaven and Earth which stars the likes of Kîchi Nakai, Xueqi Wang, Bagen Hasi and Vicki Zhao. This Ping He directed action adventure, will be available to own from the 7th December this year. The retail price will be set at around $29.95. As well as an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Mandarin soundtrack, the disc will include a twenty-five minute making of featurette and a Warriors of Peace music video by Jolin Tsai. Once again, the artwork has yet to be released for this title, but we'll do our very best to bring you that shortly. Stay tuned.

1)It is a myth that AR Rahman copied the 'backside' boys...oops..plus it was made quite awhile back so backside boys might have copied him.
2)comparing AR Rahman to Anu malik is like slapping your parents.
3)AR Rahman has done more for the Indian film industry then any other musicians combined including Madan Mohan.
4)AR Rahman continues to experiment in his albums until today which probably explains why he is not popular with the "less intellectual" also since Indians love stuff that's prehistoric like Madan Mohan, i doubt he will be heard .
5)Bombay Dreams was fantatistic.
6)Other indian musicians fantasize about Bombay Dreams.
7)It is unfair to compare him with Morricone plus the movie isn't even that great and won''t get him that far. But goes without saying he has done great work on WoHAE.
8)Why are you guys listening to this anyway? You should hear Veer-Zaara, it has madan mohan.
9)Morricone can't compose a 'Oh Palan haare' or 'Pal Pal hai Bhari'. Morricone is fantastic but AR Rahman is better. There I said it.
10)Amitabh Bachchan is gay.

Madan Mohan was a talented MD, so you need not denigrate him to praise ARR.

And what does Morricone have to do with this thread?

My bad! It is indeed from the R2 PAL DVD. I borrowed the DVD and have not got it any more to check special features which I believe includes making of feature, music video 'Warriors of Peace' by Jolin Tsai and theatrical trailer.

Thanks SnakeEye

I saw this film on R1 DVD, PQ is spectacular, camera work/technique is amazing but film itself lacks any substance or charm imho.

ARR score is GOOD but IMHO, is too indian feel does not quite gell with film.

Just to listen out side the film it is spectacular!

I wish he would have composed for ASOKA!

Film design reminds me of Santosh Sivan's work for Asoka!

Soundtrack in a film by foreigner composer, I prefer LITTLE BUDHA by

Little Buddha: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [SOUNDTRACK]
Little Buddha (Related Recordings), Ryuichi Sakamoto

It is enchanting both ways, including Indian/Classical music he uses!
Rehman miserably pales infront!

Does some one have this Little Buddha: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [SOUNDTRACK]
Little Buddha (Related Recordings), Ryuichi Sakamoto

?? :?:

nobody ever said ARR is the best music composer in the world. so stop comparing him to morricone or whoever.

ARR is the best INDIAN music composer OF THE LAST TWO DECADES.
