is eros the only way out? i mean, isn't this supposedly one of the coming bei release? if not, shemaroo it is for me. i want to put my $ where the better quality is.

i haven't seen much of j.om prakash films, but seeing the hype, i sure want to see now. is "j. om prakash" the same person as the comedian OM PRAKASH by the way?

Shemaroo may well be the brand of choice but not everyone can get hold their titles easily. And, they are not worth $25.00 each - the improvement in quality is not sufficient to make that price acceptable.

With regard to BEI, some of us want to watch these movies today, not in 10 years time! Take Amitabh Bachchan's films for instance. There are at least 25 highy demanded films of his that requires a BEI level transfer. And, how many are we getting each year? I can't think of anything other than PARVARISH this year? So, it could be a long long wait...

I dont think its fair to condemn people for accepting Eros, if the only choice is to WAIT INDEFINATELY for BEI or to PAY RIDICLOUS PRICES for marginal better Shemaroo titles.

Beyond Reena Roy's movies mentioned on this site, J Om Prakash have directed other classics like:

Aap Ki Kasam (1974) - Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz
Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka (1977) - Rajesh Khanna, Zeenat Aman
Aas Paas (1980) - Dharmendra, Hema Malini
Aakhir Kyon? (1985) - Rajesh Khanna, Smita Patel

I think he was superstitious and would only choose titles that began with A. He has produced other classics like:

Aan Milo Sajna (1970) - Rajesh Khanna, Asha Parekh
Aandhi (1975) - Sanjeev Kumar, Suchitra Sen

Did JOP produce Zanjeer? Or am I getting confused because Om Prakash is in this film?

Dragun - You are probably getting confused because the director and producer of ZANJEER is also called Prakash - Prakash Mehra. There is also an Om Prakash in the film playing the role of an alcoholic.

Shuman - Apparently Hrithik Roshan's first film is AASHA, yes my Reena Roy's Aasha... Obviously he is a child in the film, but I couldn't spot him. There is a female child in the film, could that be him?
