Comparison shots from the German disc by REM...

(Good but oversaturated colours, flawless 5.1 sound, nice OAR anamorphic video + terrible sharpness = one of REM's better releases)

I've come to accept that REM is as bad as the worst indian dvd firms. judging from the screenies, the video is soft as &$@)*!

thought DEI is 4:3, cropped, letterboxed, as I recollect is better than both of these alternatives. 2 cents

Nice Shots. Thanx Stephen. I always wanted to buy an OAR dvd for pardes as it had some great scenic shots. Finally my wish is fulfilled. A bit dissappointed for sharpness though.

i still prefer dei platnum copy even though its cropped, to bad it wasnt anamorphic but i rather stick to the dei one, i still remember when i saw it in theaters since it as shot here in vancouver and in the
movie when they caled it america everyone got pissed lol
fyi the peoples house who they shot it in down here sued subash ghai good and he was on the english news claiming he wont shoot a movie here ever again :roll:

are you sure it was entirely shot in vancouver? :p thats a pretty convincing job they did, replicating LA and LV.


why did they sue him?

not all of it from the shoot outside of india it was 90% shot here i think it only goes to las vegas/ hollywood in a song and the scene when and little bit after the guy tried to get with her in the hotel room

I know this is anamorphic, but u still can't beat DEI's Platinum version of Pardes...blow's all these releases out of the water in terms of picture and sound...

Yes, I'd also prefer the DEI version over this. I'm not sure if I have platinum but I think it is better than both of these releases.
