..shows better colours, contrast and detail than the above GVI DVD, also more picture on the sides – this Shemaroo version is not as heavily cropped as the GVI DVD.

With DEI back in business as BEI, do they still have rights to Pakeezah??

Rana

P.S.
Ali, feel free to merge 'Shemaroo Pakeezah Review Update' thread into this one. May be we can get a title change as 'Pakeezah different versions'.

I'm reviving this thread after many years to find out which version of Pakeezah features a dance number during the opening credits. This is the version I saw originally, and I would like to locate a copy (as opposed to this version by Shemaroo in which the dance has been replaced by text only: http://youtube.com/watch?v=h0sRSL_dVKw )

The Shemaroo DVD I have has the dance sequence in the beginning. I'll post a picture of the cover later, since I can't find a picture of it online. IIRC the opening credits were in pretty bad shape, so maybe they replaced it with that text on the later edition.

Are the Pseudo Progressive versions of Shemaroo still around in circulation? Would love to see a decent DVD. I'm so disheartened that DEi wasn't able to work on it. Can we expect Shemaroo to 'Blu' it PROPERLY?

Is the Shemaroo version even complete?

-----------------------------------

I've also seen a few 'Silver Screen' versions (Shemaroo) any idea whether they are different than the ones we have seen??

Which Shemaroo version has the original titles?

Especially for you, Muz! This video contains a sequence from the originally shot B/W version (Kamal Amrohi cancelled the shooting and arranged for color equipment)

Thanks buddy! Actually I uploaded the original recording of the b/w clip from a Zee TV show about Kamal Amrohi that I caught (quite by accident) when it was showing a number of years back. This video took the clip that I uploaded and added it to the colour sequence to complete the song. Great video! I am still astounded that footage of the b/w version exists somewhere, and even more surprised that Zee TV could get hold of it.

I watched the GVI version and was amazed as I enjoyed it more than the Shemaroo version
