Thanks for those shots - I've been looking at these Muktadhara DVDs and thinking of getting them. Where did you get it from, and how much was it?

If anyone wants shots, I have the DVDs of Shilpi (Uttam Kumar - Suchitra Sen) and Utsab (Prasenjeet - Mamta Shankar - directed by Rituporno Ghosh).

i bought mine for $16.99 directly from the Mukthadhara shop in Jackson Heights, New York....the best place to buy bangla movies online is bdbazar.com, they've got a pretty good selection...

What other DVDs do they have - is it a large collection?

I got a couple of VHS from bdbazar - they're the copied version from Muktadhara!! Just a thought, but maybe they're the same place?

great selection, you should check em out...bdbazar.com carries most (if not all) of the muktadhara dvds and many other titles. i've got the mukta. dvd of humayun ahmed's dui duari, i'll try 2 post shots asap...i really don't know much about bangla movies, just what my cousins tell me...but i've heard horror stories about the movies out there these days...got n e recommendations bhai?

Recommendations - stay away from most new movies!!!

Seriously though, most bad Bengali movies can be seen a mile off by the titles and dodgy covers. My recommendations:

Apon Aamar Apon - Tapas Pal, Prasenjeet, Satabdi Ray
Dadar Kirti - Tapas Pal, Debashree Ray
Bhalobasha Bhalobasha - Tapas Pal, Debashree Ray
Debota - Victor Banerjee, Ranjit Mullick
Ogo Bodhu Sundori - Uttam Kumar, Moushumi Chatterjee
Guru Dakhina - Ranjit Mullick, Tapas Pal, Satabdi Ray
Choto Bou - Ranjit Mullick, Prasenjeet, Sandhya Ray

These movies are all colour movies - none of them are very recent though. All the movies are from 1980 - 1990. Anyone else got any recommendations?
