on my toshiba 50hx81 hd readyt widescreen tv, i found that some of my widescreen anamorphic dvds are still showing black bars on top & bottom whereas others do not. here is what i observed : dvds which have 1.85:1 oar do not have black bars whereas dvds which have 2.35:1 oar have black bars. i might be wrong but for 20-25 dvds that i checked this seemed to be the trend.
so my question is, is this normal or there is some setup or tweak required ?
btw, i have set video option on my dvd player to 16:9 and on tv the pic size theaterwide 1 which is the default widescreen viewing mode.
friends and experts please advise.

never mind guys, i got the answer on widescreen faq section on dvdtalk.com. any dvd with oar more than 1.85:1 or non-anamorphic dvds would have black bars.

to get rid of those black bars on any movie over 1.85:1, i'd recommend making some letterbox mattes. look them up on a forum, they really enhance the movie experience.
