Khamoshi - The Musical
Super Digital/Video Sound - 1st Edition
* No English Subtitles
* Lots of artifacts visible, but this is the DVD that Video Sound used to make their version with subtitles in various languages ( Ali's VD Version Review )

Spark DVD -- I'm worried about it's quality, cause I saw somewhere (maybe on play.com) that the video format was in 4:3 standard which, I think, is not frequent. So is the original format preserved or has it been modified to fit your screen, like they say ?

Yeh, but even that prog version is hardly viewable – it’s from a badly worn and damaged print. I've tried watching the Spark DVD - and it’s unwatchably bad (it's sourced from the same Super Digital->Video Sound DVD). The movie I’ve only seen half of cos I couldn’t put up with the bad video and audio on the DVD. Loads of people have recommended the movie, so I have still hopes so see it one day on a decent viewable DVD :wotever: :stupid:

The DVD is cropped and stretched vertically, a la Super Digital's usual methods, isn't it?

Well, all of this is pretty sad. So if I understood correctly, we'll just have to wait until a new edition comes out ! And that can be very long. :(

Guys I was India couple weeks back and picked up some dvds whilst over there...

Among those I found what looks like a new release of Bhansali's Khamoshi..

Released by Universal (2003)

-

The movie is among my alltime favs and I already had the rare one from Super Digital...(Video Sound)

But the latest release is in proper wide-screen and the picture is also sharper....

The cover is all white with a black & white pic on the front and back of the sleeve... The disc paintwork is red....

Marketed by Universal Music India

Perhaps raj can answer this more accurately. I dont have proper equipment as of yet to test it. But on my regular tv, the sound was decent, but tone is lower than usual.

Who decides on what kind of DVD (Eros, Spark, Ayngaran etc.) the film will be released? ???

Because I see many films are released I-don't-know-how-many times. Khamoshi is released on Video Sound, Universal and Spark (according to BollywoodDVDs.com). All those different releases make me go NUTS! It's really annoying to compare all the time before you can actually buy one!! Let's say.. I wanted BAGHBAN on DVD, and I only knew about an Eros-release and I bought it, to find out later that there also is a Shemeroo-version, which is way better.. :oo: Do you know what I mean? :bangbang:
