the audio for this movie was simply outstanding,if it is indeed lossless audio on the HD version of the film then it would be worth buying just for that even!

I actually got the whole of this... and I have to say it looks mighty impressive when played on my 40" LCD via the HTPC!!

I wish we can now get some other decent bollywood movie......... id like to see khakee actually!!

It does look better than any orig dvd available, but colors and sharpness is lacking big time, too soft to my likening.

An update on the DCH Blu Ray and DVD release from a new HD transfer made from the camera negative:
The release is tentatively scheduled for autumn-winter 2009. The transfer is still not finished due to a technical problem that requires special software to solve. Software not available until recently. Work is ongoing and will for some more time. The Blu Ray will look far better than existing DVDs.
I compared reel 1 with sound in HD with 2 different DVDs. The HD shows another film. Image and sound quality were far superior. The DVDs are hard to watch once you have seen the real thing.
The real thing is not a polished Hollywood film with the latest DI technology, though. It's sometimes a rather rough piece of work with severe limitations in the original photography and sfx work which no processing can undo. One has to live with that. There are also plenty of shots with good sharpness and no big technical issues where the HD offers a substantial difference to any SD version.
There will be teaser clips in HD online in time to check it out.

So, REM is doing it! Great! Thanks for the info. Any other movie in the pipeline? REM recently released Sholay DVD, so can we expect a BD from them too?
