I came across another one. SD-VS Gharwali Baharwali. That too is single layer with bit rate bet 4 and 8 Mbps. High bit rates are used intelligently, like in colorful songs and in fast action. Moreover, dual layer DVDs don't usually have double the bit rate. Implies that they could use even higher bit rates in dual layer DVDs that they don't, presently.

I just recieved my copy of the KOYLA VS version. IT seems that it is progressive, but is hard to tell. Also the audio sounds pretty good but my power DVD says that it is Dolby Digital 2.0 As far as the length of the movie, it is clearly cut, as when Shahrukh returns to the village he has a tussle with Amrish puri's brother but that fight scene has been chopped off as all u see is the guy being put into an open oven.
Let me know what you think. (does the original Super-digital have the complete fight scene).

eros came out with their version but it wont even be close to the super digital version

Has any got shots from Koyla DVD released by Eros? I currently have the video sound version which is authored by Media Digital, and it has a scene cut out of it.

If I recall Koyla was the first hindi movie to put on DVD in the USA/Canada by Super Digital Media who at one point use to author all of Video Sound's DVDs, and Yash Raj Films DVDs back when EROS used DEI for DVD authoring.

The Super Digital Media DVD of Koyla is suppose to be really good but the picture is heavily cropped like the Super Digital Media DVD of ISHQ.. Don't know what the Eros DVD looks like, but hopefully it is widescreen with a good picture transfer.

Havent seen the ERO$ version but below is the cover from ERO$ and another verison by $PARK (which I would assume is VS undercover):

the problem with EROS version is that the picture quality is excessively dark and very poor throughout the whole film, with pixellations galore

i have SPARK version (VS/SuperDigital repacked) as well as the Eros one, but trust me, SPARK/VS/SuperDigital version is the best of all despite the cropped pic.

actually, theres other versions of Koyla, one by GVI, one by 21st Century and one by EAGLE THE GREAT do i need to tell u guys about the quality?

all of them pale in comparison with VS/SD/Spark version

the only reason why i got eros version is coz i like the cover art, plus it only cost 2 pounds, sealed and packed original when Eros was selling all thier crap at Zee carnival last year

running time on eros version? i have no idea guys. never bothered sitting through the DVD coz of the horrible quality

Hey Arsh, Sorry but I think u r mistaken. I am pretty sure that the eros version (although horrible) was made from a different master and it has the cut scene which dr_alinaeem is referring to.
