Saw the movie today. Very good movie. Good music by HJ. The CD was released 2 yrs back and due to financial trouble GV stoped the movie and evetually committed suicide. Now its released and the movie is a very good one. Due to chandramukhi, every other good movie is shadowed, but if you get a chance, rent the DVD.

(again this movie has its own flaws and the "usual" climax which may make this movie an ordinary movie, but neverthless, a young, youthful movie. This is a typical movie that should run very well in Hindi).

DVD is not out. I watched in Ayngaran VCD. Its better than Pyramid DVD quality and surprisingly this one had Dolby. Tamilini VCD has DTS also.

Kchan

Feb 14 is running this week in Cineplaza, Oak Tree Road. I dont know when Priyasakhi will be played. Just keep watching nowrunning.com or indiaglitz.com.

How can a VCD have Dolby Digital or DTS?

BTW, Priyasakhi is a remake of Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar by the same director.

Its SVCD, and definitely have 5 channel output. I dont have DTS so I cant comment on Tamilini DTS VCDs. Will check it out in my friend's place this week.

This DVD is duller than most Ayngaran transfers. I think it is a PAL to NTSC conversion. It has a very dingy look throughout. Screenshots forthcoming.

The movie itself is good, with youthful subject matter, but not a HW wannabe, like the Salaam-Namastes and Neil 'n' Nikkis of Hindi cinema (based on stills I've seen).

OOOOooooo no comparison sir! Rita might be watching us. Every desi movie make some mistakes. Usually tamil movie with un-necessay fights and hindi movie with un-digestable comedy. In case of Salaam Namaste, if they ended the at the board walk where Saif attempt to give the ring, it would have been a class movie. The whole hospital scene and AB coming in at the end and forcing 15 minutes of "extended" not so comedy made me sick.

Back to UKM, Yes it is youthful subject with little twist and expected unusual climax (?). Good movie. The songs are excellent and so the lyrics.

I saw the film last night on Ayngaran DVD. Its not bad, miles better then other candy floss teen drama's released. Had a good cast too.

FYI - The DVD was poor quality, as the source was transferred from a used 2nd generation 35mm positive. The original camera negative was held back as the producers still owe a large amount of debt to the financiers. With this on-going problem AP International (right owners) released a weaker print to Ayngaran for distribution, outside India.
-----------------------------------------------

Also, I never knew that Priyasaki was being remade in Hindi....The original screenplay was weak with male chauvinistic overtones, which I presume will be less subtle for the bollywood version. The storyline surrounding issues like abortion was in poor taste. Only the down-to-earth romantic sequences and the beautiful melodies by Bharatwaj made the film a once only “deko”. Quality for this DVD was excellent.

I think the Hindi version was made first. I saw the trailer for it in February, but the release was delayed.

hindi version made first...never got released...prolly no one is interested in releasing the outdated storyline...

it was a decent film though...not boring and didn't have any stupid violence and nasty item numbers...which are regular ingredients of films these days.

can watch once if u like the actors... i didnt like the songs before watching movie...now i like them very much. I never like bharadwaj soundtracks before watching movie... (except autograph...)
