Shuman had posted a list of non-indiaweekly websites.
http://www.cdstore.com.pk (free delivery worldwide) seemed an interesting site.
Has anyone bought dvds from them? got any feedback?

They've got prices of US$15.99(~£11.50) for dvds such as K3G, Asoka. FREE SHIPPING.
And a variety of offers such as 4 dvds for US$48 (~£8.60 per dvd). Now, THAT is cheap if ur living in the UK.

BUT, the website does not give detailed info on which company makes the dvds that are being sold.

and considering that its a .pk domain I wouldnt place my CC number with them... You never know I may end up being charged (much later on) in some kinda shady deals etc :D

Neways my hunch is that is what you said...just a pile-of-shit site ! So the best thing would be is to avoid it ( Peace ) :nervous:

If anyone does venture and buy something from them post it here. I think I will send them an email and see what happens.

This is a reply from http://www.cdstore.com.pk to my email. What do you think guys, Ali have you heard of them?

Hi
Thankyou for your comments
I have answered your questions below

I want to know how the payment works.
If its paid by Visa, is there addtional charge's and how secure are you
visa trasactions?

Yes we accept Visa, we have usa company processing credit card for us and the
server is fully secured for internet transactions

Is there anyother tax payable?

No Tax, No Shipping, No Handling, You just pay for the DVD

What are your refund policy?

If you not satisfied, send it back to us and we will issue you a refund or will exchange them
for you

On your DVD's there is no label who produced them ( for example DEI, Yash
Raj etc).

We are still working on that and hopefully will be designing a better layout with more details
all our dvd are released by video sound, eros, spark, yashraj or DEI, as they all are orignal

Are these all original DVD's?

Yes all of them orignal with excellent quality ! however couple of movies are without copyrights
like American Desi and ABCD

I live in UK so you can respond by keeping that in mind.

Our 70% clients are from UK and we ship atleast 3000+ dvd in month to our wholesalers in uk
so whatever you getting in UK now is 60% of our stuff

Let me know if you have more questions

Never seen the site until today. Free worldwide shipping is tempting. I heard of few retail outlets in Pakistan’s bigger cities who are doing online ordering now. Only other one I've come across is http://www.karachibazar.com/ karachibazar looked very amateurish. At least cdstore.com.pk has a decent online store and a secure checkout with the card being processed offsite by ccnow.com. I might try them once they get new Junoon album in :music:

Just looking trough that site. They are loads of pirate DVDs on there, Indian and new Hollywood films just released on cinema. Since Pakistan has strong import/export links with China most of these will from form there.

A friend recently visited China and brought back loads of these pirates DVD which are sold dirt cheap; talking about less than a £1 each! Some of the quality of these DVDs is excellent, proper DVD quality while others are from VCD recordings.

... just be aware of what you are buying.

Ali, do you have a list of the dvd'd your friend bought. If they are a £1 then its worth taking that risk.

Also cdstore.com.pk states they export 3000 dvd's a month, who do they supply to. Jolly or cdguru please advise.

I haven’t got a list as such, but they included latest film releases from USA. Also these were not brought online, he got them first hand when visiting China.

I doubt if they supply likes of Jolly or CDguru; but could possibly supply many other video/music shops around the UK. Not really sure.

Faddy is right, these guys make a killing. If you want to do this, the best thing would be to get a contact in Karachi who can send you this stuff.

They sell software and VCDs etc for less than $1.00 there. I have Ghalib (the TV serial) on VCD from PK and the quality is absurd. I haven't watched all the disc (4 I think) but my fried borrowed it and said the quality was really bad. The price for that was Rs. 200 which I think works out to $5.00.

IMHO don't buy from them coz they are not orginals. No one is Pakistan seems to sell originals although they claim they are.

My 2 cents.
