Sunny talk to Ayngaran about Sruthi. They will tell you the story. Sruthi is a grey area. I dont want to get into too much details, but just to let you know.

1. Gilly is guaranteed to stuck in 8th chapter. It is more like VCD (Tamilni VCD is better though) quality. No Dolby, No Subtitles. Sound is not all that great.

2. Arul is good print. No problem from beginning to end. Samething with Perazagan

3. Ayudha Ezuthu is okay. Print is like Gilly, but does not get stuck

BTW, Ayngaran's
Arul

is released.

We do keep Sruthi DVD for rental purposes, but do not sell them, since the product you buy must satisfy you and this certainly wont satisfy you. If you still want to order these from DVDUnlimitedOnline.com please let us know. On popular demand, we might consider selling them. The price will be $12.99 each. Again, THIS IS NOT PIRATED. This is a grey area.

hell noooooo......GILLY is pirated.......!!! doesn't even have chapter list. NO SUBTITLES. LOST 16 dollars. STUPID AYNGARAN is late to put these dvds out in the market. Will wait for AYNGARAN's AYUTHA EZHUTHU

THE DVD doesnt get stuck, but I didn't watch the movie in full. It has only 11 chapters.

You are very close (when you said ayngaran gets a cut from sruthi)

Kuttappan

I am glad your DVD didnt get stuck. All my DVDs (25 copies of Gilly) got stuck at 8th chapter. Anyways, like you said, you are better of waiting when you are buying a movie.

when I converted the pic from BMP format to JPEG format the pictures became too large for me to upload to a internet site. So I am not able to upload the pictures here. Its too big for emails too.

If someone can show me how to upload please let me know.

Kuttappan

DVD Makers in general get into a day contract with movie producers which restrict them to release DVD before 3 months [in general and even 1 month in some cases]. On the other hand in Canada and to some extent in UK pirated Tamil DVD comes with in a week or two, which eventually kills the DVD Maker.

As a result DVD Maker usually release the DVD with different company name. When releasing such DVD, to compete with the piraters (is it a word), they also compromise on the quality and release cheap quality DVD.

When we first saw this DVD at Ayngaran Canada, we were shocked, but we have to accept their position as well. For sampling we bought Gilli, but we hurt our finger. It is GUARANTEED to get stuck. We bought 15 copies and all of them have defects. The rest of the title we just bought 1 copy each to test the quality, but all of them does not have good sound or good picture.

Whats more interesting is that you will see this DVD more common across all DVD Store shelves soon, since Mahal had them on thier online site.

The only way this can go away is if Ayngaran put some more money and penalize the stores who carry VHS or pirated DVDs. When YashRaj, Saregama, KAD can all do this, why not Ayngaran. After all, spending a little over 20000 USD would pay them back in hundreds of thousands of dollars. Unless AYNGARAN realize this, these things will continue.

I am glad that you are getting replacement atleast. Good Luck and let me know if you can see the movie from the time Trisha cuts the birthday cake!
