Video Sound Version - Click Here

* Excellent PQ compared to Video Sound DVD
* All Shots Taken In Forceweave Mode, no combing evident through disc.
* Early pirate when movie first release, therefore 4.5gb disc used.
* 2 ch Dolby Sound
* No Subtitles
* No Chapters, Only Song Selection/Stops

Most likely this is an exact code transfer copy of the Original "Super Digital - Video Sound" version.

Pirates know how to copy, Video Sound doesn't. Their copy turns out to be Interlaced as they add sub-titles.

Were any SD titles this close to the original aspect ratio, and that too not vertically stretched? It's possible that the pirate unstretched it, but I wonder whether a pirate would do that and still keep it progressive.

Remember Video Sound 6 Pk Songs.
Vol # 6 had Progressive Kartoos Songs.
Vol 1, 2, 3 were VS-Super Digital, but my Vol 6 is VS-Media Dimension. Vol 1, 2, 3, 6 all are Single layer.

Had picked up a few $2 DVDs 2-3 months ago. KARTOOS DVD turned out to be Progressive one.

It's by "DVD Waves", It's 136 min 20 sec. Single Layer but bit rate is high ( 5.25 MBPS, higher where needed and low for text/ titles). Audio is 2 Ch though (192 kbps). Not sure what the orig sound mix was, but this 2 Ch sound looks dynamic enough, with hints of surround.

Already had Shemaroo version that's DL but bit rate is no better than DVD Waves disc. Shemaroo DVD is Field averaged and poor pq. Shemaroo version is 130 min (135 min film time). Overall it's 2 min shorter than DVD-Waves counting filmm cc that's in Shem and missing in DVD-Waves.

Film CC shows 4011 meters which is 146 min.

-------------------------------

(I notice that Shemaroo Kartoos screen shots have disappeared. No big deal as Shemaroo DVD is not as good as DVD-Waves and the Shemaroo SS that I had sent were most likely flawed anyway.)

-------------------------------

BTW, DVD-Waves version (same disc that urbanlegend provided screen shots) seems to be genuine release. It's just that it did not have Video Sound, EROS, DEI etc more famous brand logo, in the days of its release.

I have the DVD Waves version of Kartoos. I am happy with the picture and sound quality.

Does anybody know if DVD Waves also released other movies apart from Kartoos or was Kartoos their only release?
