Dear all,

Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in the dvd's mentioned (DIL SE, GUPT, KHUDA GAWAH, PARDES) of the DEI-EROS versions as opposed to the EROS b4u versions as I've heard that for these DVD's EROS has used the same source as for DEI-EROS.
Any info would help, as I want to get these DVD's.

In the old days when DEI was still around, EROS-B4U versions were different for sure as they were Pseudo-progressive where as DEI-EROS versions were Progressive.

Can't say if EROS started distributing DEI-EROS versions as their own after DEI's bankruptcy. Anyway, even now DEI-EROS versions are widely available. Someone/ Anyone keeps on replicating them legally/ illegally, on crap media though.

Thanks for the info,

I can see what you're saying, as I've recieved some DEI-EROS version of some DVD's but its quite clear that they are not originals and have been replicated.
Anyways, does anyone have both versions of these movies.
could someone tell me which ones are worth buying in DEI-EROS(DIL SE, GUPT, PARDES, KHUDA GAWAH) and which ones just to keep in EROS b4u as I have the EROS-b4u versions.\

Only Gupt is the one that some prefer EROS-B4U and some prefer DEI-EROS. EROS-B4U is in its OAR but is Pseudo-prog. DEI-EROS is Progressive and I think, is slightly cropped from sides (not sure). I and many others who value 'Progressive' encodings, prefer DEI-EROS version.

All other, DEI-EROS is better.

But, before you go on replacing your EROS-B4U versions, consider the DVD media as well. Older DVDs most likely are on reliable Gold media. Pirate DEI-EROS versions for sure will be on Silver, succeptible to disc rot.

You won't find them at IW or at Nehaflix.

Stores that sell mostly pirates, will have them. Toronto is notorious for that. 3 DVDs for $ 10 Cdn if you are lucky. For these DEI-EROS TITLES, I think, you'll have to pay around $ 12 - $15.

I used to OWN both GUPTs, EROS, DEI versions..I did my critic comparison, my self..and kept DEI version, even it is cropped!

Why? because..I am NUTTS!

CRITICS favourite is EROS version.

My favourite is DEI version.

U pick urs!

I have Dil Se on Eros Label and the transfer is very good although not as clean as it should be. The images are sharp and colourful and the sound is excellent. I can only therefore assume that it was done by DEI.

Well, my acid test is whether EROS version is Progressive (original DVD authoring) or it's a copy as Pseudo Progressive.

There are many EROS DVDs that do use DEI original authorings even if DEI is not credited on the covers.

Of course, another important thing to consider is Disc Media (Gold or Silver). Unless you are going to transfer the excat DVD code onto your PC hard drive or on to 2 DVD-Rs, there is no point collecting a Silver media disc that is going to work for a few months only.

Let me tell u? whether u believe me or not? GUPT was NOT PROG? it was GRAINY, SOUND was LEAN! (EROS version, with PROPER AR), whether it was GOLD? I dont remember!!? but NOTHING is GOLD any more, u wont find DEI/EROS version on GOLD any more?

GUPT was not SAME DEI TRANSFER, it was RE AUTHORED?!!!!!

I posted shots 4 both? so go ahead and search some one? :baaa: ??? good luck

guys,

thanks for all the info regarding the DVD's. Well, I have the EROS version of DIL SE, the sound seems pretty good, but the picture is not as good as what I have from my earlier DEI-EROS dvd's. If anyone has both versions, could u tell me which one's better in terms of both picture quality and sound.

I know there was talk early on about a platinum EROS DIL SE DVD??? what's so special about that!!!!
I'm guessing that one is probably extinct.

Also, regarding the KHUDA GAWAH (DEI-EROS) DVD, is the pq the same in both EROS and DEI versions, or is it different enough to try to get hold of the DEI-EROS version.

Sometime during June 2003 to Nov 2003 a couple of dvds I ordered from Nehaflix like dil se , sarfarosh, duplicate etc were dei eros version. They look original but not sure. The only thing I can tell was in the menu page when I selected scene select or songs the page would jump once and then go to what I selected. i hope I am making some sense. Thanks

guys I need to get hold of the DEI-EROS title before they get extinct forever. I was getting some DEI/EROS titles till recently from nehaflix, but imho they dont have any title on DEI/EROS. So I am anxiously looking for the following dvds, if anyone can give me suggestion from where to buy then please do it soon. I am in usa.
