Hi,
I bought the dvd of HDDCS with DEI + Tip top video, mine worked well for the first time and then it started freezing from the second time i played (scene was the one just before interval). About Media it was gold+silver, which they are currently providing.

Hey guys,

I'm writing this thread is absolute disgust with the DEI version of HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM. the darn dvd just does not seem to play on any dvd player that I have. I have already sent it back to nehaflix twice and have got back pretty much the same looking dvd's. the first one at least only froze at a particluar point, but the rest of the movie was fine. then this the last one is freezes from the mid point of the movie all the way to the end.

Any suggestions what do !!! I defenitely don't want the video sound version.

I have been asking them to send me the BEI version. maybe that might work.
BTW, ALI where did you find the cover for the BEI version. is there one available. If it is could you tell me where to find it.

The reason your Hddcs DVD is freezing is because the media is not on gold media its on sliver media. So even if you exchange the DVD and get the BEI verison if the BEI version is not gold media it will most likely stop playing in a few weeks or months. I picked up my DEI version of HDDCS on DVD from Indiaplaza which was on gold media, but that was over a year and half ago.

harry, I got the same one. I ordered mine last month from nehaflix, sent it back, but got the same one in return. mine freezes around where that song "dhol baje" is. I e-mailed nehaflix and they said that BEI only distributes this title in UK. So I guess VideoSound still holds US rights. And, I'm guessing that the image above is probably from UK version. I used to have the VideoSound version, which was not that bad, but I gave it away to get the DEI version. Now I regret it. :bangbang:

r there any balank dvd-r or dvd+r gold media out there?
So, what about these dvd-r or dvd+r media that most people are using to backup thier original dvd, mostly like TDK or Phillips. I'm sure these dvd media r not gold. So, is it possible that these backup dvd's that people r making are not going to be good in a few months or some years? I know some of the backup dvd's that I've burned on my computer freez from time to time.

Gold and silver media issues only applies to dual layer discs. DVD-Rs are single layer, so AFAIK disc rot doesn't enter into the equation.

I just got the BEI version of HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM. It seems quite readily available from the store that I got it from, which is contrary to what Nehaflix told me. They said that the BEI version is only for U.K customers and is not available here.

Another thing, The disc says Apollo, on the inside, so I don't know what the deal is. Has Apollo joined hands with BEI!!! That can't be good.

I bought my copy from one of the stores in chicago, who are still selling those old dei/eros dvds. And Luckily my version is in GOLD MEDIA, yep you read it right in gold media and I have checked that properly. :)
