CD Guru says it is a re-release. So does that mean it is improved?

I have DCH on DVD and it stopped working a while ago. I didn't bother returning it since it was 2 months after I bought it I noticed it (I only saw it once in those two months and it stopped working on the second viewing itself). Indiaweekly had the DVD at around 13.99, then they dropped it too 7.99 and now its 6.99. What a joke!! Whats the point of dropping the price again and again since the bloody thing doesn't even work after a couple of viewings. They should just throw them in the garbage since none of these Spark/Soven DCH DVD's have a hope in hell of working (the whole batch was on discs that rotted), there just losing all credibility by selling junk like that. Some poor chap/sucker is going to think 6.99, not bad and is going to buy the bloody thing and be cursing them a couple of months down the road. :ffs:

Jolly at one time recently offered, in one of the forum threads, to exchange the original defective discs with the new one. I sent my cousin to the address provided on the forum. Got nowhere.

This is why I only rent the DVD and still have not bought the DVD. I did email Shemaroo to see if they would be making this DVD for the Indian market, but they have informed me that TIPS still owns the rights to the DVD for INDIA, but that TIPS is yet to make the DVD. Shemaroo did say that if TIPS puts the DVD rights up for sale that they would buy the rights and make this DVD.

I don't have any problem with DCH either. My daughter practically watches the sogns part of it everyday. So I guess I have played it more than 100 times!.
But older DVD playes do have some sort of problems with most of the "Indian" DVDs. DCH might be one of them. What DVD player are you using? Have you tried playing it in some other DVD player?

Totally disagree with your rude comment. I have not had any problems with my 2 disc DCH till date. So there was definitely a set of dvds which have no problem.

What part of my rude comment do you disagree with? Don't tell me it's "Everyone I know have some problems with this dvd " If so, then you too are full of shit and most likely the biggest idiot :D If you don't get it take a hint look at the first three words :p

In response to you Oblix I have a Sony DVD player which I just bought last year. I have an older one too and the same problem exists on that.

I am willing to believe that there was a BATCH of DCH DVDs that were defective because I'm definetely not the only one who had problems with freezing on this DVD. My theory is that the people who bought the DVD when it FIRST was released are okay but those who waited for the price to drop a bit and bought it after a certain amount of time got screwed. Either way I can only watch the first half of this DVD now and the second half is not watchable. This is what makes people buy pirates and then these same guys who don't check the quality of their products complain that piracy is killing them. Duh, if they made good products then people would not support piracy. Anyways I'm not buying this one again. Funny thing is IF my theory is right they got it right at first and then they screwed up afterwards, its usually the other way round. ???

Urbanlegend, if I recall correctly, you have a DVD recorder right? If so, where are you based and how much would you charge for a DCH copy? My second one recently died and I feel like revisiting the songs.

I have the original Spark DVD. It freezes after the scene Sameer announces he wants to stay in Goa with the white girl...when Akash and Sid are returning. I saw the other day a new 'improved' version is out...not sure if it really is improved or just re-packaged!

btw, for those in the UK, Dil Chahta Hai will be shown on C4 tommorow at 12.40pm (afternoon).
The quality will be better than the current DVD's....and at least it won't freeze.

I think DCH is quite a random DVD - whether you have a good one or not is dependent upon sheer luck. I waited for a bit and picked up the official UK release as soon as it came out - and mine freezes. I'll prob be picking up a replicated copy from India for about Rs 100.........
