It doesn’t have that same DEI sharpness and colour contract of previous DEI DVDs like Ek Rishtaa.

And above all the video is slightly squashed AGAIN! - the above screens are not properly framed (they have been captured in 1.50:1 AR when it should be 16:9 or 1.778:1). I'll resize them in few minutes and repost them.

Corrected 16x9 screenshots of YDA - compare them with the above!

I think its some sort of problem with PowerDVD and WinDVD – they’re two options in PowerDVD. Advance->Capture-> under tab ‘captured aspect ratio’ and there’s two options;

original video source size
current video window size

..I use the 'current video window size' to capture the correct AR video shots.

BTW I’m using version 4 of PowerDVD.

It's a Videosound DVD, isn't it!!! :D

Shouldn't DEi be improving their quality, what with the British/American companies starting to relelase DVDs of Hindi movies?

this film had me on the floor laughing! We all know (or should know) that 99% of all bollywood movies are unrealistic but this one took the p*ss!

It can be forgiven for being unrealistic throughout but a particular scene towards the end grabbed my attention. Karan had the cr*p beaten out of him by lots of goondas for days, hadn't eaten (unless you consider that chappatti he and Pooja had! ) yet, after being knocked unconscious (after repeated beatings) he managed to run towards the main goonda, who was tring to enter the helicopter, and managed to use his hands to lift the goondas leg up and launch the goonda towards the helicopter blades, where his head was cut off :where:

Just had to get that off my chest! Two more things though, anyone notice how he was hit on his knee a gun shot and his jeans torn, yet few scenes later he was running with probs and his jeans weren't torn. :0

One line in the subtitles stated: "You know you love you" speaks for itself as far as how much time went into the DVD.

Phew!

Review up

...one other problem people might encounter which I'm not sure is DVD related or DVD player related. Seems DEI have done something odd on how they’ve placed the non-anamorphic song on the DVD. When playing with PowerDVD the song is just skipped without playing - and it gets played right at the end of the move when the credits have rolled. While on my stand alone player and PS2 the song is played in the actual film (but switches to non-anamorphic video after a slight pause - similar to a layer change).

Overall a disappointing DVD – to the point of being shit as Eros ones! :p

Why don't you e-mail them to see if they would re-place your DVD of YDA, with the forthcoming correct version?
