Can anyone transilate what this lyric is in English....

"ras kii phuhaar, jaise"

It is taken from 1942 a Love Story - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (3rd verse)

phuhaar is more like a burst of something so ras ki phuhaar means burst of ras i.e sweet juice/cane ......

ras:
Juice. Like Ganne (Suggarcane) Ka Ras, Santre Ka Ras, etc.

phuhaar:
Drizzle like sprinkle (or mist). Like Baarish Ki phuhaar.

Faddy, you and I said the same for 'ras'.

For 'puhaar': You are right that puhaar is mountain, but the word in the lyrics is 'phuhaar' (that Sunny asked) which is like soft spray or mist or drizzle or sprinkle.

Arsh, I can describe what Phuhaar means, in Punjaabi better. It's pleasant 'Chhumb'.

Phuhaar related to the word Phuhaara (Water fountain).

This is what attracted me to the so called Bhangra Songs from UK. Besides beautiful High Tech music and music instruments, these punjabi songs refreshen our memories of the words rarely used by us now.
