The DVDs are still in replication, Ayngaran was hoping for a Tamil New Year release but it looks unlikely now. I have been told that the DVD will be out asap once the problems of Dolby have been settled.

The DVD has been released in the UK and should be around the world by the end of the week...

BTW the DVD quality is really cool! Another winner from Ayngaran...

On an interesting note Ayngaran informed me that this film has done exceptionally well on cinema in Hong Kong and Korea terrtories. Looks like "Dhool" continues to grow dispite being released in Jan ealry this year...

Thanks to Bhaskar here are shots from the Dhool DVD by Ayngaran. 2.30:1 AR anamorphic (with anamorphic menus) and DD 5.1. Looks bit pixelated but other than looks decent.

I thought the movie was a good entertainer - good songs and action sequences. The story is pretty routine, but it's well worth a watch if you like your masala movies. If you looking for a good non-masala movie, Anbe Sivam is the way to go.

I think both Dhool and Anbe Sivam are prehaps two of the few best Indian film releases this year. Both are high masala entertainers that high quality production values with a fitting screenplay cater for those who are looking for 2 and half hours of fun!.

Word is that both of these films are now being remade with Anil Kapoor in the lead...so you can watch the Hindi version, if the Tamil language is off-putting!!
