Satya *****
Excellent (DTS)

Rangeela *****
Excellent... (Dolby SR)

Company ****
Between excellent and very very good...cinematographer made a apparent mistake in choosing wrong film stock in a certain scene. Could have done with better cinematography but that is my opinion, RGV seems to hate colours it seems...Great sound recording (DTS)

Mast ****
Love story? He does it even better than Yash Raj...oh ya great sound(DTS)

Jungle ****
Very good but some performances were a little jarring...and again Sandeep Chowta could have done better...cinematography very inconsistent...but nevertheless a good story...Great sound recording(DTS)

Daud ****
You either hate this movie love it...This movie is a complete satire of satire itself. Full of "insider" jokes and inane comedy(Dolby Digital)

Kaun***
Interesting...I don't know how I could have improved on it...this movie started the great DTS recordings that you come to expect from a RGV film.(DTS)
___

Road*****
Is this ghost directed by RGV? It certainly looks like it...(DTS)

Shiva *** - so-so in the long run...nevertheless terrific debut , clearly inspired by other films

Drohi * - why was this made even?

Raat ** - nice attempt, but half-baked story....could have done more development....a trailer of things to expect in BHOOT.

Rangeela **** - Urmila refreshing(only movie in which she is nice), Aamir incredible shud have stopped working with Urmila RIGHT HERE !!

Daud *** - heh, heh....some like it, some hate it...but cannot ignore it......But Ramu-bhaiyya why Urmila yaar ? what's this obsession mere bhai....stop it now...its injurious to your films and viewers !!!

Satya **** - Topclass, whammer delivery, great finds Anurag Kashyap, Sandeep Chowta, coming of age for Manoj Bajpai

Kaun? ** - retard Urmila - bad casting, Bajpai may have flair for the comic, anyone listening ?

Mast *** - Antara nice, Aftab - eager beaver. Best scene - Introduction of Mallika to Kittu's father - very original !!

Jungle *** - cool subject, Urmila - aaaarrrrrgghhhh, Fardeen - maybe Saif would have been better ?

Company **** - Topclass, his best yet to come (perhaps in EK -selfish wants of an unshamed fan), thankfully no Urmila finally (except inconsequentially)

BHOOT - prediction, Urmila's going to irritate the hell out of all.....shall eat humble pie in case of being proven wrong (gleefully too).

Rangeela ***** The best feel-good film by RGV. Urmila's best performance ever. One of the first Indian films in Dolby Spectral Recording. A.R. Rahman's first original Hindi album.

Satya ***** The most uninhibited film by RGV. Too bad it spawned countless mediocre copycats. Great collaboration between Gulzar, Vishal Bharadwaj and Sandeep Chowta.

Company ***** Great performances, music & editing. Mediocre cinematography by TV-serial videographer's first film project.

Road ****(I like to believe it ghost-directed by RGV) Technically crisp. Great chemistry between actors. Weird song sequences.

Jungle ***1/2 One of Urmila's somewhat irritating performances. Great, wonderful, fantastic sound in DTS. Bad guys should refrain from singing.

Mast ***1/2 Kittu is a bad name. Urmila's charatcter is somewhat not credible. Wonderful background score by Sandeep Chowta. One of his best and most under-rated scores. Well executed ending.

Daud ***Very very campy script with insider references. Could be tightened and made into a better film. Chacko is a tad too weird/strange to be funny.

Kaun? ***Urmila looks crazy enough for the part. Nice sound design, if a bit gimmicky. Some of the overlaying of location sound over ADR was amateurishly executed. But a novel effort.

RGV's one of my fave directors and Rangeela, even more than Lagaan, made me fall in love with Bollywood. So, here are my ratings

Shiva ***

Drohi ****

Raat ***

Rangeela ***** - one of my all time faves

Daud **** - Guess I am in the love camp for this, a lot of fun.

Satya ***** - up there with Goodfellas

Mast ***** - as close as Bollywood has come to the old Hollywood musicals of the 50's. If given a major release in the US, it could cross over and be a huge hit.

Kaun? **** - No subtitles, but I loved it. Urmilla is great in it.

Jungle ** no subtitles on DVD so really don't know what happened, but a couple very good musical numbers

Company ****1/2

I saw a couple of his earlier ones, forgot the titles but they were all in the ** range.

Now when does Bhoot come out?

You thought so? I thought the movie should have ended a lot earlier - the whole thing should have remained a fantasy eg they shouldnt have got together in the end.

The film was too long, the DVD was horrible, the story was odd, and I just didn't like it. Antra Mali was the only person I liked in here. Loved 'Ruki Ruki Thi Zindagi'!

Company - *****
Absolutely wonderful classic film!

Road - ****
Good film. I loved some of the songs, and it didn't disappoint me at all!

Pyar Tune Kya Kiya - ****
I loved Urmila in this film! This was one of my favourite performances that I've seen of her's.

Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega - ***
Nice film. Not great, but not bad either!

I should really see some more of his films. Besides Rangeela, Kaun, and Satya, does anyone have any recommendations?

Shiva Have not seen
Raat Have not seen
Rangeela ***** (a classic film)
