Film studios in the US and India are joining forces to combat movie piracy.

The Hollywood-based Motion Picture Association (MPA) and the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA) are launching a joint initative in the Asia-Pacific region.

It would seem that way and in reality that's how it will be. They'll be some token 'combating' of Indian DVD piracy too - but as usual it'll be more talk than anything else while Hollywood DVDs will get priority in protection – considering that most of these DVDs released by Indian companies don’t conform to any proper DVD standards (hence most of them use fake, DVD, Dolby Digital, DTS logos).

I have seen a lot of DVDs with fake DD logos on them, but they do have DD sound. Perhaps they just didn't want to pay the licensing fee to use the actual logo on the cover art? I've seen one DVD with a DD logo, but the DVD had MPEG audio.
