It's in English and Hindi (and bit of Punjabi too! ) - that’s the original soundtrack to it. Same case as Lagaan which had parts in English and rest in Hindi.

Not sure, could be you're cinemas got it wrong or they confused it with a subtitled and un-subtitled version. Only proper Monsoon Wedding at the cinemas is being distributed by Film Four who have a reputation for not tampering (i.e. dubb) films.

Someone else did mention that Eros are also showing this around the Indian cinema circuit - which could be different to the Film Four distribution.

I think the other version (hindi version) was just created (dubbed) for the general Indian audience in India. And if this is true, i have no idea why the distributors of this film would show the Hindi version overseas? Even the English version of this film has been said to made more money in India than the Hindi version.

As to how this film is, its a really good film, great comedy and great light moments, overall, a definiate worth watch for its down-to-earth entertainment.

There were two versions of 'Monsoon Wedding' released here in Delhi. The original version was released as the International Version and the other version released was called the Hindi version. I myself saw the International version (as advertised by the theater) which has a mixture of English, Hindi, Punjabi & Hinglish. But strangely enough I know people who saw the 'Hindi version (as advertised by the theater)' and they claim it also had a mixture of English, Hindi, Punjabi & Hinglish. So personally I have been quite foxxed as to what the difference between the two is.

Faddy go see the "English" version which is presented as the director intented!

The Hindi version has dubbed some parts of the film In Hindi to suit the audience who watch Hindi films from India (I think some scenes are also cut on the Hindi version).

It is worth watching this film, I voted it number one Indian movie last year, and many who have seen this film did like it. I wish this film was representing India for the Oscar's as it does hands down beat Lagaan, and has more chance of compeating with the excellent French film Amile.

well I work a cineworld at woodgreen. The reason behind a subtited and hindi print is because the film has recieved decent reviews in the media and sites such as ours are trying to cash in or 'supply' a demand for non hindi speaking people who wish to watch the film. I have to say the subtitled print has done better then the hindi print. Hopes this makes sense.

Film four are handling the sub titled release while Eros are doing the hindi print release so I guess either one could release the dvd

I just watched it. Amazing Sh*t!!

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, be it bollywood or hollywood.

It's a shame that american media hasn't talked about it yet, probably because it hasn't been released in north america yet.

Why the F*ck are they waiting till the middle of February to release this Film here??????

It hasn't released in the US yet right?
