I've got the Cinebella version of Bollywood Hollywood. It looks like the official version. It's a full screen version with DD 5.1 surround sound. The picture and audio quality is very good.

The special features included are footage from the Toronto Film Festival, a making of feature, TV spots and the theatrical trailer.

You can't really say "ignorant Americans". The term "Indian" has been around since Columbus' time as a way to describe the Native Americans. I always say I'm Indian, but some Americans are too stupid to grasp the concept of India, so I sometimes have to say "East Indian"... it's all largely dependent on their upbringing.

What else would term them as if not ignorant? Anyhow why should you have to change the way you identify yourself just because someone else is too stupid or ignorant to grasp something as simple as a nation. That too a nation that has roots atleast 6 to 7 thousand yrs old, which is home to 1/6th of all humans, and is the 7th largest nation size wise, it is also the 5th largest economy in the world, one of only 6 nations that are nuclear powered, one of only 5 nations capable of launching their own sattelites, a nation that has the 3rd largest standing army in the world, do I need to go on...? More importantly if they are simply ignorant of the facts then it is our responsibility to make them aware of the facts and not change or dilute our identities to suit them.

I don't change the way I identify myself at all.

However, you do have to realize the influence by Indians in America is quite small compared to what it is in other countries (e.g. Britain). Not everyone knows all these facts. If I ask you to tell the difference between a Chinese man, a Japanese Man, a Korean Man, and a Vietnamese Man, can you? If you can't, is that ignorance?

Ignorance is when people believe the wrong thing. If someone believes that Indians are all religious fanatics who rip out people's hearts (a la Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), that's ignorance.

What do you call people who are of Indian decent but born elsewhere in the world, e.i. Pakistan. Africa or to complicate matter furhter in the West Indies.

Personally, if these people are citizens of these countries then I would call them Pakistani's or American or Canadian or British or West Indian (but West Indies is not really a country so I guess Trinidadian etc.) of Indian decent. In the case of Pakistan it get's a little complicated since technically all Pakistan's are of Indian decent since Pakistan was a part of India at some point. In the case of those who still retain their Indian citizenship I would simply call them Indians or NON Resident Indians.

But one thing is quite clear in Anthrapology that there is no need for the term Eastern Indian. Just saying Indian imples people from India.

Ignorance is when people believe the wrong thing. If someone believes that Indians are all religious fanatics who rip out people's hearts (a la Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), that's ignorance.

The very reason for Indians not having any or very little influence in the US compared to other even smaller countries is that unfortunately most Indians in the US meekly accept whatever they are called and do not even take the trouble of correcting/educating the Americans. Infact it is so shamefull that so many of them even change/alter their names just for the convenience of Americans.

As for your example of Chinese, Japanese, Korean & Viatnamese people, just becasue I cannot differentiate between them does not mean I start reffering to A Japanes as Viatnamese. I would, and quite correctly so simply identify them as Oriental if I am not aware of their actual origins. Your example is also not correct because the equivalent parallel would actually be if someone could not tell the difference between a Pakistani, an Indian or a Bangladeshi, and therefore incorrectly identified them. That would not be ignorance, but to not be aware of Indians and/or Pakistanis, that is certainly ignorance. By the way this level of ignorance you will mainly only find in the US unlike the rest of the world, the term Indian in the whole world outside the US, quite clearly implies someone from India.

By the way I have lived in the US for 6 yrs so I do have a little if not a lot of experience in dealing with a lot fo ignorant people there. As a matter of fact what I find shocking is that since I also went to college in the US my interaction was with other students there, a college student is soemone you would expect to be a lot more aware and knowledgeable of the world, but guess what quite a few of them were as ignorant as the average Joe in the US.

Ok Lets put things in the right perspective
When kishi said "East Indian" he probable meant to say West Indian cause he is from the West Indies and if thats the case he is not wrong. It identifies the part of the world or country he is from, again like Pakistani, Bangla Deshy,Indian and so on. However, the term " East Indian" is widely used and accepted to determine the race of people regardless of where they were born and like someone rightly pointed out not to be confused with American Indians.

American Indians is a term that is historically and politically incorrect and has long been unacceptable both by Native Americans (which is the the right term) and Anthrapologists. In fact the term Red Indian and/or American Indian is considered to be offensive by the Native Americans. For someone who is from the West Indies, to be referred to as West Indian is quite acceptable and correct but the term for people from India is and ought to be just simply Indian.
