Hello

I picked up another (my 4th) version of DCH from Tooting yesterday. This version has a picture of Aamir talking to a fish on the cover with the rest of the actors in the background.

The DVD is about the same quality as the previous release - but it has additional subtitles in Hebrew and Arabic. The English sub-titles have been fixed - in the previous releases there were problems with these. Also the menus and chapter stops have been re-done. The layer change is in a different place and so far the disc seems quite stable.

Also in this version you get to see the Interval caption on the screen instead of it being chopped like the previous version. This is an original DVD - I only hope that it doesn't rot like my previous versions. The extras disc is not included in this version.

I can't scan the cover and I can't post screenshots - but just wanted to let you all know that this disc is out.

Thanks,

Muz.

I don't understand why all these DVD's are being made for horrible films like DCH, KNPH, HDDCS, HSSH, and Mohabbatein. These films only deserve a nice official DVD!

:stupid:

You can just call me Kishi. It's my real name.

The music of this film grew off me. Wot was the big deal about it? Nothing to shout about! Honestly, I think that Kasoor was a much better album that DCH!

as in Gapuchi Gapuchi gam gam, kishi-ki kishi-ki kam kam :)

Yeah I too would like to know. Is the media Gold or silver ? But alas you cant tell that by merely looking at the DVD. wait for a few months. If the dvd is unplayable then the dvd can be safely assumed to be a silver media disc

Hi All

The picture quality is the same as the last release. The disc has been released by Spark/Excel.

As to whether the disc is silver or gold - it doesn't look as silver as the previous DCH discs. It has 'Canon 001' and ' 'Made in the EU by Cinram Optical Discs' printed on the disc. Previous releases have no company brands.

If my disc packs up in the next few months I'll let you know - but for now it seems better than any of the previous versions that I have. Also at least the sub-titles have been fixed so I can now show the move to more non-hindi speakers without having to translate the sub-titles!

Thanks - and apologies for my very un-technical disc report!

Muz.

Kasoor better than DCH? Nadeem Shravan's repetitive bull better than Shankar Ehsaan Loy's fresh music?!?

Sorry, cannot agree with you at all here!

This DCH sounds like another UK/European release - will check it out if I can find it, seeing as my copy has died and gone to hell..... :ffs:

Muz, does your copy have a BBFC certificate on the cover? I saw a new version here in the US recently, and I think it had the triangular BBFC PG certificate on it.

Hey Gabuchi Gabuchi Gham Gham, I don't know how you can say what you said about DCH.

DCH is one of the best movies I have ever seen, hindi that is. It had a fresh feel to it and reminded me of my days at University, not that I got up to what those guys did, but the film has an evergreen feel to it. Plus the music is top notch. Now don't get me wrong the music for Kasoor is also brilliant. But DCH is in a class of it's own.

BTW guys I have had DCH the two disc version for over a year and my disc is running just fine.

DCH was an excellent film.. I could really relate to it... its music was extremely fresh too.... and i would definitely score it above kasoor...
however the same cannot be said abt the 2 disc version of DCH that i have... the first time it started freezing on that tara birthday party scene .. i returned the disc and got another one.. that worked great for a year and now yesterday i started having pixellation and freezing problems from the point where saif returns from Goa... i played the disc on my buddy's sony dvd player and it was even worse on that it had freezing and pixellation throughout... i hope i can return this dvd and hopefully get a non faulty version but i have pretty much given up hope here....

It's not an Oriental name, it's just plain Asian name, and it's pronounced kee-shy, not kee-shee!

I'm sorry, DCH just doesn't work for me. There is no repeat value, and it just got overrated. I did like it at first, but it was getting too much undeserved credit, just like Lagaan, which also got annoying after all the unecessary hype!
