... I can’t believe one after the other these four films have had poor DVD releases. Lagaan is best of bunch so far – but should have been a 2 disc set. DDLJ was expted to be poor but not as poor as it turned out :( Abhay was the biggest shocker for me as it came from DEI – expected the same quality transfer as previous DVDs alas that shattered that myth of ‘expected DEI quality’.

So we're left with one hopeful – Asoka on 28th Jan!

Does anyone know yet if the original version (including songs) is being released? Or is it just the "international festival" version at the shorter length?

BTW, kudos to Aamir Khan for not trying to cater to western tastes and leaving all the songs in LAGAAN! If we in the west can't appreciate these films as they are made, then we don't deserve them anyway!

The Metrodome release for Europe is the full uncut international release.

No firm details are issued about the USA release from First Look Pictures - but from the info from online retailers, looks like the cut "international festival" version.

Thanks for the info, Ali.

It will really suck if we only get the cut version in the states. :(

What is the uncut length so I know what to look for?
