Dragun, I really like your avatar. Isnt that from 'Rushmore'. The Criterion edition of that movie is so beautiful. I'm a Criterion collector as well, by the way. Haven't got that many yet, but I'm working toward it.
Yeah, that's Max Fischer from Rushmore. The only Criterion discs I have right now are Do the Right Thing, Rushmore, and The Royal Tenenbaums. I've rented many other good ones from the local library.

I didnt like 'Sur' as it seemed too put-on. I really miss the music of the 60s. I was born in the late late 70s but I think the 60s was the best era for Bollywood music.
Sur takes a while to get into. I thought it was a little esoteric at first, but I was intrigued enough to listen to it again and it grew on me. The 60s were really good for Hindi music. There were some great MDs from the 50s and 60s, and some like RDB who started out in the 60s and went on to make great music in the 70s.
I only heard "Tere Bina Zindagi" from Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, originally from Aandhi, and I thought Kavita Subramaniam did an okay job singing Lata's part. It wasn't as good as Lata's rendition, but it was good enough. But whoever they got to sing Kishore Kumar's part was awful. Where are the good male singers?
