Is it true that the first release of this dvd had a good transfer?
Who has it and can comment on it?
Why has the quality gone from good to rubbish?
What is the point in making a good transfer crap?

If you are speaking of the DEI release, then yes, I have that dvd. It's video quality is average, and audio sounds average, despite being in Dolby 4.0 at 448 kbps. It's also cropped, with the exception of the opening song/credits.

WOW the DEI version does look really superior to the b4u version and looks very good. Where can I get this version from as i was under the impression that all versions of this dvd are crap.

Did anyone find that the sound on the DEI DVD had a slightly harsh sound, as if it wasn't sampled at a high enough bitrate? It had a watery quality at times, particularly the harmonium sound at the beginning of the "Samne Sambhan Hai" song.

masti man,

trust me, while the dei version is much better than the b4u version, it is still an average dvd in my opinion. look at the full screen caps, as that will give you a more accurate idea of the pic quality... whenever you shrink those pics, they always look sharper. even when you watch a dvd in window mode, rather than full screen (both on a computer screen), the window mode will look better because it is not zoomed to full screen. just my take on it.. but yes, if there is a version to own, i would get the DEI version as it has the better pic quality of all the versions out there, however i believe this one has a song missing called chocolate lime juice.. later!

I agree, HAHK, was one of the ORIG dvds done by DEI, but not the best!! Sound was 4 channel, and OVERLY AGGRESSIVE SURROUNDS!! esp SONGS! but YET THE BEST AVAILABLE!!
