I just dont understand, how can they have wrong covers for a movie. It is very irritating... :angry:

Slightly OT I noticed DEI have changed few covers of their past films; ones Bawarchi mentioned on another thread - others;



I remember both these DVD having different covers before - probably others have changed too.

I don't have a scanner so I can't post a pic - but the crappy Video Sound version of Tarana has a still of Madhubala from Mughal-E-Azam on the cover. How difficult is it to take a still from the DVD and reproduce this for the cover? Then again how difficult is it to make a good DVD

The pic of AB on the new DEI cover of Geraftaar is the same as the one on the back of Gangaa Jamunaa.. , don't know which movie it's from!!
Ure Right it is stupid, and really pisses me off!
Also i don't understand how they cant spell the right names
Amitabh Bachchan is spelt as
BACHAN on DEI's"Eternal Classics" and as
AMITAB BACHAN on Baba's Naseeb cover.

Never noticed that about DIWANA, DON that they had different pics than the movie. Anyhow,

Diwana - do you know which movie is the Saira Banu's pic taken from?
Don - and from which film is AB shot taken from?

i assume that are things are wrong with the cover for those to movies!! ???

Scarface786 mentioned the AB pic that was duplicated by DEI on the GJSW and Geraftaar DVDs, I believe that pic is from Deewar or Kaala Pathar...Calling Faddy for assistance on this

My take on some of the covers posted here in this thread;

1) Still of AB on Cover of Don(DEI) is from the movie itself. Still is from the scene just following the song yeh mera dil.
2) Stills of Nargis,Pradeep Kumar on cover of Raat aur Din DVD are from the movie.
3) Still of Raj Kapoor & Vyjantimala on the DVD cover of Nazrana is from Sangam.

Some of these guy responsible for creating the covers just don't know their left from right. When they don't care about quality why would they worry about covers.

the pic of AB on the front cover of GJS where he has a "beedi", denim shirt and white trousers is taken from Deewar... as for the close up picture of him at the front of Geraftaar is taken from one of his ruff look movies... cant really think which one but i suspect it is Aakhri Raasta!!

I was sure, Kajol on DEI's "Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gya" was from the same movie. I was wrong.


While looking for the Kajol on the cover scene, I noticed the following worth mentioning:-

1) DEI's DVD has very high bit rate. Varies bet. 6.5 and 9 mbps, same as Hollywood's "Super Bit" Titles. The movie is 139 min long, the DVD is double layer and has no extras.

2) I think this is among DEI's best DVDs (AR is 1.85:1).

3) The DVD has DD 5.1 audio. The LFE (.1 channel) comes alive quite often. At the end of DVD feature, the film credits show this film to be Dolby SR. Quite likely, the Dolby SR aydio must have been decoded by DVD studio encoders and then recorded as DD5.1 ??

4) I have often complained about widescreen DVDs having "chopped heads and chins". Most likely it is the result of incompetent widescreen cinematography, or may be it is the result of excessive matting, by the DVD maker, at the top and bottom. BUT, this is one of a select very few widescreen movie DVDs WHICH DOES NOT SUFFER FROM THIS PROBLEM.

5) The movie itself is not bad at all, I don't know if it was a hit or not, I liked it.

BTW, All web sales have the EROS-B4U version on sale. Even DEI site had a picture of EROS-B4U cover when they had it in their list last year.

Hey the DEI "DON" cover ain't that bad. I think its a pretty cool cover. It isn't that bad as compared to the many, many other ones I've seen.
