As I looked into Nashad vs Naushad credits, the credits are mixed up.

Film Baradari

But, did you know the Music Director ??
No, it's not Naushad. It's Nashad.
Very similar names from the same era.

----------------------------------
Later, I noticed, IMDB Baradari music to Naushad, credited as Nashad ??
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0154206/fu ... cl_sm#cast

On the other hand Nashad has his own page on IMDB, where his name comes up with music of mostly Pakistani films (and also Baradari).
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3142754/?ref_=nv_sr_4

Any one knows for sure if Nashad and Naushad is the same person or if Baradari music was by Nashad (not Naushad) ??

Initially, I was not even sure if these were two different persons or the same person with two different spelling. For sure, they were two different individuals.

In 1949, Nashad using the name Shaukat Ali Haideri composed songs for the film "Dada". The director was Harish, and it was released under the banner of "Omar Khayyam films", the cast included Sheikh Mukhtar, Begum Para, Munawwar Sultana, Shyam, Murad, Mukri, and Gullu. It was released in Jubilee cinema, Karachi. In 1953, film director, Nakshab Jarachavi, changed Shaukat Ali's name to Nashad, which he retained for the rest of his life. The story behind the name change has been written in the book "Naushad: Zarra Jo Aaftaab Bana" (Penguin). The director initially approached Naushad Ali for composing the music for his film. When Naushad Ali refused, the irate director Nakshab Jarchavi then changed Shaukat Ali's name to Nashad, to make it sound like Naushad. Nashad composed for Jarachavi's 1953 film Naghma, starring Nadira and Ashok Kumar.

In 1948, he (Nashad, not Naushad) also composed songs for film Toote Taare (1948) as Shaukat Dehalvi. Released under the banner of Sheikh Mukhtar's film production unit called "Omar Khayyam films", the director was Harish, and the cast included Shamim Banu and Motilal. In this film, he composed Mughal Empereor Bahadur Shah Zafar's famous ghazal "Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka Noor Hoon" which became very popular throughout India.

I thought, this ghazal was from the film Lal Qila ??
Added Later: Obviously, this Bahadur Shah Ghazal must have been in film Toote Taare in 1948, music by Nashad. The same ghazal was also in 1960 film Lal Qila, sung by Mohd Rafi. This is the one, most of us know of. It'll be nice to find Nashad's ghazal from film Toote Taare.

There was a Composer from Pakistan named Nashad!
Am not sure if he composed for any thing in bollywood?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashad

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naushad
Taj Mahal the eternal love story was his last credited film where all the tunes were arranged by his assistant or disciple Uttam Singh!

I think thos is the best with 2 different dates of birthd. We can possibly sort this through ;)

Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka Noor Hoon from Lal Qila (1960 film), sung by Mohd Rafi, music by S N Tripathi, we all know of.

Same ghazal lyrics was also in a 1948 film Toote Taare
Film: Toote Taare (1948) Singer: Rajkumari Dubey, MD: Shaukat Ali (Nashad)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRBRoSB9TVY

Lyrics: Muztar Khairabadi ?? or Bahadur Shah Zafar - controversy:
As per Javed Akhtar, a handwritten lyrics, written by Muztar Khairabadi has been found.
My opinion: Even if a handwritten manuscript by Muztar has been found, does not mean Bahadur Shah Zafar did not write it originally, over a hundred years befor.
