BTW saw the whole movie. Excellent movie. the way they narrated the story was amazing. Each scene is branching form the court scene. Its very interesting. Its like watching a TV serial where each week when they end you have a suspense, so each time the court is adjourned, the movie gets interesting. Must see movie. Not to mention, great PQ by BEI.

Well, I can't seem to find any information on the BEi DVD anywhere. Can't find the cover snap anywhere on Google, no torrents. In fact, even YouTube videos of the song have PAL speedup which isn't expected from the BEi edition (maybe I am wrong.)

Was this DVD progressive? And how's the quality?

Meanwhile, here are screenshots from the SKY edition. Nicked from DVD Beaver:-

Somehow Screen shots are not visible now. But, BEI DVD of Mera Saaya is excellent (it's as good as it gets).
Yes, it's Progressive.
My genuine BEI DVD still works, and somehow I have watched this film many a times and is always equally interesting.

Thank you so much! I am really interested in this movie and I love the soundtrack. I wish I could buy the BEi dvd here in India.

BTW, SKY DVD is said to run at 2:11 hrs. The movie on YouTube is available with a running time at 2:08 hrs. According to the CC cert posted on DVD beaver, the film runs at 2:18 mins.
Hopefully the BEi version is complete.

Is their any chance for anyone to post screenshots from the Bollywood Entertainment version? It's very hard to find any traces anywhere- YouTube, Dailymotion. Looked everywhere!

It's one of the best BEI prints. Beats many Bollywood Field Averaged Blu Rays.

Unfortunately, this link shows the screenshots from the SKY edition. Are BEI and SKY the same transfers?

BEI DVD run time is 2 hrs 16 min 33 sec.
So, can call it complete wrt 2:18 time on CC 1976 version.

I wonder what was the orig release run time in 1966. One sequence in particular seems to indicate un-explained event. How did Sadhna manage to escape from the mental hospital (near climax). Perhaps, she ditched the security ?? May be, this was shown in the orig release ??

BTW, because of repeated viewings, you notice flaws that are not noticeable in theatre one time viewing. In this film they show Nisha knocking on Geeta door. But, Geeta room is on the second floor, some 15-20 ft above street level. Could be justifiable if Nisha was healthy, but Nisha was gravely ill at this seq and she fell on the floor as she entered Geeta room.

After much trial and tribulation was I able to source some snapshots. From what I see, this could easily be the best DVD transfer for an old film.
Heck, and it's an extinct DVD now.
