Mera Naam Joker Full Version by Shemaroo

Does it exist ??
How long is this version ??

Rare Antras of Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din:
Quote:
http://www.bobbytalkscinema.com/comment ... 0213153609

this write-up shares two more antras written by Hasrat Jaipuri for the immortal song “Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din” sung by Mukesh in the music direction of Shankar-Jaikishan for Raj Kapoor’s dream project MERA NAAM JOKER released in 1972.
“Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din,
Kehtey Thhey Teri Raah Mein, Nazron Ko Hum Bichhayenge,
Chaahe Kahin Bhi Tum Raho,
Chaahenge Tumko Umar Bhar, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.

Is Dil Ke Aashiyan Mein Ab……….., Unke Khyaal Reh Gaye,
Tod Ke Dil Woh Chal Diye…………., Hum Phir Akele Reh Gaye,

Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din……………………….!
Kehtey Thhey Teri Raah Mein, Nazron Ko Hum Bichhayenge,

Aandhiyan Gham Ki Yoon Chali………., Sapne Mere Bikhar Gaye,
Aansoo Bhi Mere Kehne Lage…………., Saathi Tere Kidhar Gaye,

Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din……………………….!
Kehtey Thhey Teri Raah Mein, Nazron Ko Hum Bichhayenge,

And following is my humble try to contribute another stanza in the song as per the theme of MERA NAAM JOKER and it’s also a tribute to that divine blessed team of showman Raj Kapoor & his immensely gifted friends making many gems together. And it goes as,
"Yeh Zindagi Bhi Bahaar Hai………., Sajde Mein Unke Yaar Hai,
Do Din To Humse Mil Gaye………….., Dil Ko Yahi Qaraar Hai”

Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din……………………….!
Kehtey Thhey Teri Raah Mein, Nazron Ko Hum Bichhayenge,

Cheers!
HIS BLESSINGS
(Note : One of the above mentioned rare antras can be heard in the voice of Mukesh only at the following link for all interested friends)

I found out that there were two (or three) songs recorded by the singer Sharda for Mera Naam Joker that were dropped from the soundtrack. I managed to find a clip of one on-line:

http://www.mp3.com/media_player/viewer. ... d=&ont_id=

Not sure why they were dropped - according to Sharda's website (titliudi.com) she also does not know why they were dropped.

Found Complete song at Youtube (Sharda:Alibaba, Mukesh-Sharda-Simmi: Gaao Gaao, and one more mentioned)

Youtube Alibaba song is perhaps still trial versions. Close to the MP-3 version. Obviously, Youtube version doesn't have the same Hi-Fi as MP-3.

Amazing Rana

Gosh, i must applaud your effort. Hearing the full Alibaba song gave me goosebumps, and the best thing is, you could hear how the songs sounded similar to the rest of the MNJ soundtrack. It would be a crime if someone doesnt have the COMPLETE version of the film somehwere!
Can you imagine if that made it to blu ray (4 hour+) movie.
I have said it before and i will say it again, Fellow Zulmi's, you guys are AWESOME, the amount of knowledge shared in this one thread alone is mind boggling!!
keep it up :)

A few Yrs back, we were wondering why was this Alibaba song not includeded in the final cut of MNJ and which character was it for. I and others speculated that it was for MNJ part 3 to be filmed on Mumtaz but Mumtaz was replaced by Padmini and the song was dropped.

Another take to it:

I don't think this song was dropped at all. Perhaps it was to be in MNJ sequel, project that was shelved. Here is an excerpt from Filmfare June 16, 1988 - Goodbye Raj Kapoor:

Quote:
Abbas wrote the film in six chapters and six heroines were to be cast opposite Raj. Besides the School Teacher, Circus Girl and the Stage Artiste, there was to be a Magician's Daughter, Wife, and a Teenage Girl who had a crush on the old Joker. Thanks to the length, only the first three chapters could be filmed, which ran into over 20 (thousand) feet. The remaining three chapters were to be MNJ sequel. But, the failure of part 1 at the Box Office put paid to the idea.

---------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
1) 20,000 ft represents 250 min. Add starting and end credits etc, it comes to 255 min run time, MNJ's official run time.

2) So, obviously, Alibaba song is for the "Magician's Daughter" character or could be for the "Teenager Girl" character.

----------------------------------------------------------
Not much hope of getting MNJ sequel but it will be interesting to read the script of MNJ sequel that Abbas wrote and exists somewhere.

Saw another clue/ hint that Joker was supposed to die in Mera Naam Joker:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0712428/?ref_=fn_nm_nm_24
Joker song "Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan" in 1970 Shanker Jaikishan Night, Naval Star Show was presented for the first time by Rajinder Kumar with these intro words (look time marker 8:15):

- - - Joker Ka Gana Hai, Joker Ek Kalakar Hai, Ek Artist Hai, Woh Artist Iss Duniya Se Chala Jaata Hai, Aur Yehee Keh Kar Jaata Hai:

Mukesh Sings: Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan - - - -

That's a great news.

What we had identified on p 4 of this thread, 245 min of available video:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4457&start=45

Quote:
Using Existing YRF DVD and Esquire VHS:
Part 1 = 72:38
Part 2 = 94:24 (title song 75 sec audio not counted)
Part 3 = 77:56

Total Available Video 1,2,3 = 244 min 58 sec

Let's hope they include other MNJ related audio/ video/ publicity/ Naval Star Show etc in EXTRAS. I would also love to see "Ae Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo" complete song in one continuous clip. Randhir Kapoor had shown (assembled by Randhir himself) it on TV (see p 4 of this thread).

Waiting anxiously.

MNJ Blu Ray seems to be around the corner. It's showing up at http://bollywoodbluraydvd.com/# website in Forthcoming Blu Rays. (3 titles showing up; MNJ, MPK and Dear Zindagi). Normally, when a title shows up here, disc comes out in a month or two.

You can read cover saying, "Original 4 hour uncut version".

Looking Forward to see the 4 hour Blu Ray. :D :D :D

Yes, 4 hour Bly Ray seems to have finally released. :D :D :D

http://bollywoodbluraydvd.com/#

I always rely on this website and never found incorrect availability.

MNJ and MPK Blu Rays appeared on this website among "Latest Releases" section just a few minutes ago. (did not show just 15-20 min ago when I checked last).

According to a post on blu-ray.com the picture on the li-ray is cropped to 16:9. I hope it is not the case but they posted a couple of screenshots over there.
