Just saw this on sale at IndiaWeekly. I have never seen this movie but the write-up looks very promising. Has anyone here seen it yet? The movie AND The DVD, I mean. Its a DEI release and one of the customer reviews says that its one of the clearest transfers. Reviews and opinions please.

Yes one of DEI's good releases. (for an old film... I would grade it 8 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the DEI-EROS version of Deewar).. It has the stupid Indiaplaza ads, as usual and the usual stuff with all DEI DVDs... film mode

The story also is great...Rekha won her first national award for this movie...esp for that song..Sare Niyam tod do, niyam pe chalna chhod do ..

Superb Film! and Excellent DVD! bargain for $5 bucks lol, get 6 copies..imho!! Higly recomended!!

Stay away from Rekha's Award winning performances of Khoon Bhari Maang and Khiladiyon ke Khiladi???(am i on right, khiladi film??) as far dvds are concerned!! mas:

Arsh, aapne kabhi socha hain ki maybe Umrao Jaan ke maal itne saste hain kyon ki vo DEI ka release nahin hain? Maybe theyve listed it as DEI only to sell you one of the other versions. I visited Nehaflix and saw that they have Umrao Jaan on sale as well, but it is that supposedly horrendous other version. Maybe India Weekly screwed up, who knows. I'll just have to wait till I get the discs in my hand, and then tell all of you how it went.

I don't think so. If in doubt, contact AFZAL at Indiaweekly. The low price, most likely, is due to price match or due to overstock.

I ordered khoobsurat too from IW. You will love this movie Even Ashok Kumar is superb in this. You will like to watch it again and again.
The Padosan is the one which is also on special. which is the good value for the money

Padosan is a great film, but unfortunately both version that are available outside happen to be PIRATES and shit quality ! So avoid both of them... as for Khoobsurat (DEI).. yeah DadaMoni is indeed great in the film ... In fact the movie is a real family entertainer...
