I've heard that Eagle came out with the Blu Ray of Chupke Chupke, Anand, Bawarchi and Gol Maal.
Has anyone bought it? Screenshots to me look fine and I've seen video clips which looks well restored to me. But probably our Blu Ray gurus could tell us how it is.

Thanks

I did notice these BRs on the store shelves.

All three films are on DEI/ BEI DVDs. I won't be surprised if Eagle BRs are just up-scaled copies of DEI DVDs. If that's the case, no copy can be better than original.
If these really are new High Def transfers, I still don't believe Eagle BRs will be better than DEI DVDs. I hope, I'm wrong.

Nearly all the DEI releases are released by Eagle in India and I my gut feeling is that they are one and the same

These BRDs are authorized by Shemaroo. The shots look nowhere close to being a DVD upscale.
PQ looks miles better than DEi (in terms of SD). But since these are BRD rip shots, I wouldn't judge them for HD.

Hopefully someone uploads shots from the disc itself.

Comparatively, the DEi version looks bad (in terms of Standard Def.)
Lets wait for the actual BRD shots

I don't think so! Eagle's Hrishikesh Mukherjee DVDs are crap! That's what I heard!!

I have Chupke Chupke ... picture quality is better than the DEI DVD but the sound is not that great. I think that the term is "wow and flutter" (the sound is wobbly) and is especially noticeable during the songs. I may pick up Anand if I see it for a good price ... but still wish we would get some older classics.

Actually, I really appreciate the fact that someone cared to bring classics on Blu Ray.

Yes! Other forums report that the YouTube video sounds better than this BRD.

What else can be expected from a 40+ year old movie which has been handled so badly in the labs?
Overall, I wish that Shemaroo / Eagle don't fall below there standards they showed here.

Could someone provide DEI shots to compare?

In any case, I prefer DEI colors (vibrant and glossy) so i don't really like the natural colors here :wotever: ;)

May I request for Chupke Chupke DEi shots to compare as I don't have the disc.

Can someone confirm whether this video is from the Blu Ray disc?

Here's some comparison from the DEi version.

Update : The uploader claims that he used the Blu Ray disc without any changes (compression may be observed, but no modifications in Contrast, Brightness & colors)
