PICNIC (1966)

Perhaps not a successful film and perhaps not even interesting enough to watch but I'm curious to recall my memory about this film and perhaps some interesting tid bit.

I remember seeing this film in a torn Tent theatre, in noon show (can't believe I was that crazy). Not much interesting. The film was taken off all Delhi theatres after just 4 days.

If I recall correctly, Manoj of course was the main lead but it was Shobha Khote that was the heroine and it was not Kalpana (Professor fame). But, I'm not sure of this.

Is this film avail on VCD or DVD ??
Or, if any one knows about this film and if really, Kalpana was not the heroine in this film ??

Youtube links mention Manoj-Shobha Khote and no mention of Kalpana. Looks like, Shobha Khote after all was the heroine in this film.

I could not recognize Kalpana in this film. It could be one of the two characters, I'm describing below. (Obviously, if someone goes to see a movie because of a famous name heroine and did not recognize her looks, of course will be disappointed)

Film has Manoj in the role of Vinod. Vinod romances Shobha Khote (character Kalpana) till 45% of the film and interaction continues. At 45% mark, character Aasha appears that marries Vinod. Remaining film is Vinod, Aasha, Kalpana characters Triangle. There also is another female character, Vinod's sister.

Which character is played by actress Kalpana ?? I recognized Shobha Khote. Most likely character Aasha is played by Kalpana, but I could not recognize her at all. Looks like Azra ?? Vinod's sister role is minisecule but may be this is Azra and it's Aasha character that's played by Kalpana ??

Any one, interested in clarifying this that's bugging me ??

Yes, you are absolutely correct. There is also supposed to be a 1964 film titled PICNIC. Yes, IMDB lists just Guru Dutt and Sadhna in it's credits. (Wow! for a 15 year old, you sure have remarkable film knowledge and memory on finger tips)

I think this film (Guru Dutt, Sadhna) never released or even completed. Perhaps film "Film Hi Film" has some clips from this film, just like it has clips from some other unfinished films (as per it's storyline) as well.

The IMdb page of Film Hi Film says the film has various incomplete and unreleased film clips starring :-

I realized that there are two different films called Picnic (definitely there are more). The 1964 one (unreleased Sadhana and Guru Dutt) and 1966 one (a Kalpana, Shobha Khote, Manoj Kumar starrer).

I am 6 years too late to clarify, but I can confirm that Azra, indeed, is the actress who plays Aasha in this film.

Major films like Professor, Pyar Kiya Jaa, have no mention of Kalpana. Kalpana profile does not exist. It used to.
