Hugely disappointed that Shemaroo released the Bluray of this. Am I right in thinking that the DVD didn't have the watermark on it?

The watermark is so frustrating. Quite a few Shemaroo Blu-rays would be must-haves were it not for that blasted thing. :?

the Viacom version, released internationally, does not have a watermark.

Friend of mine bought the Shamearoo version yesterday. He was not aware of the logo watermark before buying the disc. Of course I made him return the disc today for a refund, but not before we watched the movie last night. Other than the ugly and obnoxious Shemaroo logo watermark, the blu-ray itself is not too great either. The video quality is at best average for a blu-ray. The audio quality too is no great shakes. I also don't understand the logic of having two 'lossless' audio tracks and also don't understand why the 'Dolby TrueHD' track is set as the default. Logically the 'DTS HD MA' track ought to be the default. As for the movie itself, it is certainly better than most Hindi movies and definitely miles ahead of the previous Vidya Balan movie, The Dirty Picture. The movie has huge holes in the script and also in the characterizations. All in all, I found the movie to be above average, but certainly not as good as everyone else is making it out to be.

My ratings for the Blu-ray:
Movie - 6.75 out of 10
Video - 6.0 out of 10
Audio - 7.0 out of 10
Extras - 6.5 out of 10
NOT RECOMMENDED <- For the obnoxios Shemaroo logo watermark.

sanjay,

wouldnt mind hearing some thoughts from you on what you considered to be weak characterisations (plot holes I can understand).

Cover to the Shemaroo version:

Link to the International version (I think):

http://www.bollyman.com/shop/detail/1-n ... i&sef=hcfp

The cover at Bollyman doesn't show the Shemaroo logo, but I haven't seen the BD myself. I've never used Bollyman, so don't know if they are a reputable retailer or not.

Is the aliasing on the disc or just the stills?

Shirt too. It's not the shirt, it's screwed up subsampled colour interpolation or something like that. For example image 1 shows the same problem on the police man's reddish edge of the arm. Problem is visible on all stills at +- vertical sharp edges. Either disc issue or software issue when stills were captured. Is it the disc?
