In the past I have seen 3D films and often you see/ feel action 2-3 ft away, no closer.
But, the other day I saw "I-Max ULTIMATE WAVE 3D - TAHITI" and believe me, it's really ultimate 3D. Often objects feel as close as 1-2 ft from your eyes that you can touch them. Occasionally, it (like water splashes) hits your 3 D glasses and seem to be be hitting area between glass-lens and your eyes. Unbelievable. Even if a documentary, it's worth a repeat viewing.
The same day, I saw another I-Max 3D film (Born To Be Wild) as well, but that was normal 3D action (occasionally action 2-3 ft away, farther otherwise).
