My internet browser security settings have been warning me today, for many Indiafm pages as attack sites. Are they ??

This is the message I get:

Quote:
Reported Attack Site!
This web site at http://www.bollywoodhungama.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.

For the last two days, I too am getting messages by 'Microsoft Security Essentials' (Antivirus), of a Trojan 'JS/Gamburl.E' infection, each time I visit bollywoodhungama.com (indiafm.com). If Taran Adarsh's reviews were not enough of a reason, now this should definately be reason enough to avoid this site.

Code:
Category: Trojan
Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

Recommendation: Remove this software immediately.

Microsoft Security Essentials detected programs that may compromise your privacy or damage your computer. You can still access the files that these programs use without removing them (not recommended). To access these files, select the 'Allow' action and click 'Apply actions'. If this option is not available, log on as administrator or ask the local administrator for help.

I've faced this problem with a lot of legit sites. It's not so much the content from the site your visiting, as it is the advertisements they place on their sites. It's the 3rd party companies!

Anyway, the best solution to this problem is FireFox with AdBlock Plus, and also use a plug in to block Flash. Those FLASH ads drive me nuts!!

If you're using Google Chrome, there were some extensions released recently for it to block ads, but they are not as effective as FireFox. I use Internet Explorer only on legit legit sites..lol
