Hey

I have a question - since getting a PS3 I've found that having lots of stuff stored (like family pictures etc) with immediate access and ability to view on the TV means that we are now looking at our pictures more and more. It's really useful when people come round as it saves the hassle of everyone crowding round the PC to look at pics.

A while ago I had our cine family movies transferred to DVD. I would like to try to rip them and edit (if possible) to make some short .avi files that I can hopefully store on the PS3. Could anyone point me to some software that would allow me to do this? I would like to retain as much quality as possible - the transfers are from Super 8 and 16mm so the original source material varies. Luckily the films were in good shape and the DVDs were excellent quality.

There are a number of discs and I really just want a few of the family movies (not all) available on the PS3 in as good quality as possible. This includes sound as well as picture.

Thanks!

Muz.
