Damn! Missed the championship match! :( Just finished looking at the highlights and my thoughts are ...too bad they had to play reduced overs....All things equal, would have been one hell of a 50 over match.

No matter what they say, or what appears to be, that AUS beat every team by a considerable margin and they deserve to be champs, SL did not get a fair chance in the final. Rain soaked field in the end and more seriously last few overs in un-playable dark, you can't expect them to play, let alone meet a do-able RR target. When you can't see the ball, how do you connect the bat ?? Moreover, SL team was not told, for long time, that their score target has been revised to 36 overs from 38. Until just a few overs before the end of the match, SL was achieving, not just a fluke one over but averaged over five overs, a RR 1.5 times the required. And then the dark sets in. It was just a courtsey that SL batsmen agreed to play the last two overs in un-playable conditions.

Why can't the match be continued to another day ??

You make the stupid rules (Must end in one day), you get the stupid final.

i think the game was over way before the darkness ever set in..it was pretty much over when jayasuriya and sangakaras partnership was broken..and yes they could have divided the match to play the next day..but did u know that it rained the whole of the next day? so there wouldnt have even been a result..

Will watch the final match this weekend , hopefully. Had a heck of good time watching India vs Bermuda game yesterday - Leverock was the crowd pleaser showman and that replay they kept showing of Leverock catching the ball and not knowing where he was running to going back and forth on field (lol)
Hemp gave it his all - Bermuda's one man team. lol, Singh was on fire - beautiful watching him play poised and hitting all those sixes , great partnership with Ganguly.
