Bachchan, Dutt fail at the box office

Sanjay Gupta's Zinda got good reviews, but the box-office response to the film was dismal. Might have been because of the gore overload that turned most people off.

Last week's other release, Family, was a disaster. Despite a big name director (Raj Kumar Santoshi) and a megastar (Amitabh Bachchan) playing the lead role, Family could not even draw a decent opening.

Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates.
