Saw it. Loved it. Yes I am admittedly a sucker for superhero movies. One of the villians, Scarecrow could have been crafted better (especially the way his character concludes in the movie) and there were slight things that only hollywood can get away with in their story line. Overall, far superior to the previous 4 movies except maybe for the villians (Jack Nicholson in the first movie kicked ass). Tonnes of character development akin to spiderman series. Batman is played with style (his voice was a lil hard to get used to at first, but it grows on u later). Not a Perfect Movie (my fav superhero movie of all time is still X-men 2), but definitely entertaining, worth your ticket money and a must see in a theatre setting. Rating 8/10.

I liked:

Special Effects - Not a lot of cgi effects.

Batmobile- Holy crap! I want one! The chase scene was awesome.

Morgan Freeman - As awesome as always

Michael Caine- Did a good job

Gary Oldman - Good. I wish he was in more scenes.

Christian Bale- Good. I can see him as Batman. I expect only improvements from him in the sequels.

Cilian Murphy- Great job as scarecrow.

I didn't like:

Tom Wilkinson- Accent didn't work for him.

Ken Watanabe- good actor given such stereotypical martial arts wizard bullshit role.

Liam Neeson- IMO, not a good villain like William Defoe was in Spiderman 1.

Katie Holmes- blah.

Cinematography - could've done a better job. Maybe a little more stylistic. The scale of the city was missing in some scenes.

Editing- Really needs to improve especially during the combat scenes. I'm freaking MTV generation and can't even follow the action.

The beginning was a little slow moving. It got better and better as the movie went along. I wish the main villain was a little more menacing.

Overall it was a pretty good effort. I am sure sequels will be much much better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the action scenes were a little confusing. I've heard others say this as well. I agree with most of Spike's likes and dislikes, though I will add a few more.

Likes:

"Realistic" treatment of the story and city.

Dislikes:

The Caine and Freeman characters had the potential to be interesting, but they're both not as prominent as they should have been in Bruce Wayne's life.

Overall pace of the film was rushed.

I watched it and liked it, sorry Parineeta advocators but it wasn't showing - oddly Parineeta is 10 mins shorter than Batman Begins - what’s the world coming to! Anyway... I thought Batman was pretty good comic book movie but boy was it dark - I mean literally dark!

Watched it and loved it. Batman is my favorite superhero so to see this movie talking about his beginnings was a treat.

liked it but not as much i liked the first Tim Burton interpretation....Gotham City looks dark and foreboding in that, whereas here it only looked futuristic....also can anyone match Jack Nicholson's performance or more than that his quips..........also i still await the perfect actor to play Batman.....Christian Bale is close, yet not quite it.....

I'm not overly impressed and felt somewhat cheated! I needed to see more colors and not this dark and sinister look, and whatever happened to the sun, it don't shine in Gotham it seems. The batmobile outward look is shocking, a far cry from the previous ones. However, on performance, indestructible, you could feel the rush of adrenaline over the roar of the engine. Gotham looks unreal with the monorail floating through the middle of it. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were wasted on what I called bit parts! I enjoyed Revenge of the Sith and Mr and Mrs Smith a whole lot better!

well, I saw it and I think it's kind of better than past batman movies - All of them were very dark and in compare to that this one have kind of more light in most parts where it needed to be.

all past ones are basically kind of made out of comics just for kids type bad guys. This one actually looks more like a action/adventure movie instead of kids movie, doesn't have any stupid looking character.

I liked the print quality. Anamorphic cinematography and no digital intermediate. Good, no grain reduction artifacts for once. :D
Sharp, good colors and nice contrast.
Went on to see "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and after a minute it was clear: Digital intermediate and UGLY grain reduction artifacts. Morons in charge once more.

That's just it. It's a comic book hero for crying out aloud! Too much effort into humanizing it!, just spoiled it for me!

In the first Batman film, Joker kills Bruce Wayne's parents. In the comic book an un-known, small time thug kills his parents. Comic book? I don't think so. Action film, Yes. from the looks of the trailers Batman Begins seems more like a Comic Book film rather than an action only film

Comic book hero is right but I am all grown up for that  Like to see serious action - example spider man (ok movie) - don't have stupid jockers and riddler in it which basically makes it a comic cartoon not movie. This batman is perfect if you want to see comic hero in action/adventure movie.

Really? Was it that pronounced? Guess I couldn't take my eyes off Agelina to pay attention to that!
